Well, my hound dog disappeared and was replaced by 3 refined, crafted them and got a Mining Light.

That happened to one of my friends, too. He crafted Pyro's Beanie and it said him the crafting servers are down, but he got it anyway. Then the day after he got 3 refined back and crafted Billycock

Same with me. And before that I crafted 3 pain trains and it said the same thing, and I thought my pain trains disappeared, but 10 minutes later it said I found some scrap metal, I said "...How?" and the people on the server with me agreed that it was kinda weird. I crafted 3 refined right after that, said servers where down, said "Eh, who cares," died and then found a hound dog. This morning I went to play and my hound dog was gone so I crafted the mysterious 3 refined and got my Mining light, which is an OK hat I guess.
Funny thing happened to me. I already had 1 Camera Beard, 1 Kabuto and that Medic's Mirror. I finally managed to get my third refined metal earlier this day, so I crafted them into a hat, and what do I get? A Medic's Mirror. So, I wasn't very satisfied with this and someone on the same server told me to craft the mirrors. So I crafted them, and what did I get? A CAMERA BEARD! YAY!

That someone was me. Also, after you, I crafted my soldier pot and medic mirror, and got a prussian pickelhaube.
