Has this already started taking effect, if so I may as well exit it now, I was all set up for a nice idle session whilst I slept, then I thought, I'll check the TF2 forums before I go, and boom, now this haha.

Oh dear. TF2 Wiki will require some changing.

You can still idle, you just wont find as many items/hats. So if you don't play TF2 a lot (either you don't have the time or you want to play other games as well), it's still efficient.

So wait, I'll still find THE EXACT SAME AMOUNT OF ITEMS idling compared to playing? This doesn't sound like a loss.

Idle too much though, and no more drops for the remainder of the week.

just got the modest pile of hats after crafting a professionals panama with the mining light I think its a pretty good trade off since I never play sniper or engi. I crafted a Camera Beard from three Refined Metals. I rage-crafted it with my Stovepipe, and got the Texas Ten Gallon.

The premise is you get drops faster, so you can get the last few you need to craft a hat sooner, but you will get less items over a longer period of time. Hopefully this cancels out and the average drops per week will be similar.
