Okay, still haven't gotten SDK to work, so I used itemtest instead. Other than that, this thing works perfectly. Two notes: 1. Ammo that comes out of the gun in first person reload looks unused, but there isn't anything I can do about that. 2. The "muzzleflash" if you will comes from below the gun, I'm wondering if I can adjust that somehow. After fixing the clipping issue it just needs a UV and a texture, honestly. EDIT: Also, there is a bit of a rigging issue, something I would normally ignore, but if anyone thinks they can do a better job rigging the hose that goes between the igniting cap and the tank of nitrous, that would be awesome.

Nah, it already has lower damage. Melee weapons are meant to be powerful anyway. They require you to get right next to someone with a gun.

It's more wise for his other melees to be designed around utility instead of raw damage -- The Gloves of Running Urgently, Disciplinary Action, Escape Plan, Candy Cane, Pain Train, Fists of Steel, and others are far better when used for reasons other than to directly attack people. If you want to re-balance, you're going to need to refocus what the items are meant to do. SVF is horrid for what it does since the Flamethrower does the job with greater range, access to the airblast, penetrating through multiple targets, and higher damage. If it is to be useful, then an on-draw effect would work fine such as "afterburn minicrits while held" at the cost of putting one's self at risk while wielding a melee weapon such as "15% vulnerability to ranged damage while drawn."

So I decided to scrap my old [URL="http://th00.deviantart.net/fs71/PRE/f/2012/200/9/3/cannibal_pyro_flamethrower_concept_by_jack136-d57w4ti.jpg"]flamethrower[/URL] concept and redo the it to be more creepy rather than gruesome. Here's the current model: [thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/22205400/flamer_side.png[/thumb] [URL="http://p3d.in/50uEp"]http://p3d.in/50uEp[/URL] The idea was to have it be a walking miniature crematory and it's a part of a Cannibal/Serial Killer Pyro set. And this is actually my first weapon model I've ever made so I'm open to any form of criticism and change, I enjoy learning about this kind of stuff and I would love to improve it. Hopefully I can find some time this coming week to texture it. Also here's a picture I quickly painted up of the misc I'm gonna make for this set. If you want to spice up the gas canister, I'd recommend putting some white stenciled serial number there instead. 040515-0919 S-052425, for example.

Just don't get yourself killed while you're standing still. And give it a downside instead of it being like the Amputator. Even no random crits, it needs [i]something[/i] :/
