Anyone ever thought of making a pistol for Spy or Engie based off the Tesla from Warehouse 13?

Okay, so, I am starting an endeavor to learn 3D animation. Should I choose 3DS or Maya?
I think that one or two weapons from Fallout could fit into the TF2 universe.
Specifically, this one, and this one.
Alternatively for the pistol, you could model the Hyperbreeder Alpha.
Someone started making the new vegas helmet for pyro and then never posted again.
Oh well.

I laughed pretty hard at that.
Okay, so, I am starting an endeavor to learn 3D animation. Should I choose 3DS or Maya?
A matter of preference, really, although I believe 3DSMax is the more commonly used of the two. From what I've gathered, 3DSMax is the golden standard of 3D modeling, but Maya has a few shortcut tools/functions of some sort.
I'm starting to wonder if anyone made a mod that replaces the payload cart with the bomb used by the tank in MvM.

If you want even a slim chance of Valve accepting your animations, you will use Maya.

Since when has Valve accepted custom animations at all? :S
Since when has Valve accepted custom animations at all? :S
Since Dota 2, it has an updated system which allows for it to be done. Unfortunently; for tf2? Never.
I'm still wondering why Valve didn't added Pyro Robot Head as a Misc for Pyro from MvM.
Since when has Valve accepted custom animations at all? :S
That's the point? :v:
When having spoken to Valve though, if they were ever going to come out of their conceited little bubble about animations, they would do so with Maya animations if nothing else.
Since when has Valve accepted custom animations at all? :S
Well, what with DOTA2 soon to support custom animations for taunts, maybe they'll take some of the same lovin' back to TF2?
[editline]28th August 2012[/editline]
After all, why the hell did they add scout_user_animations etc.

It would more than likely require a full reconstruction of the model system they already have in place and already have had to renovate once. Although admittedly this time around it might be easier, with separate files for animations only, I still doubt they'd want to change it yet again.

The GameBanana skin of the week!
A true accomplishment in presentation.
Ok so right now I'm fixing up the Chain-Arms model, optimizng, LODing and all that fun stuff. Also going through suggestions and one of the bigger ones is that the chainsaw is too big (I assume long as it sticks off the engi pretty far.)
So I have tried to scale back the Chain-Arm for the engi based on your suggestions. Feedback at this stage is greatly appreciated as we want to get his on the Workshop ASAP.

Really I'm not sure how to make a chainsaw arm NOT look long but the size it is now is about how comfortable I am in terms of scaling the blade back.
Here is a first person view if anyone's interested.

Shouldn't the pull be facing the other side so Engineer could hypothetically start it up? :v:
Looks fantastic in first person.
though the whole body of the thing seems rather oversized, the blade doesnt really need to be that long. it feels as if the engie would barely be able to hold it with his arm alone. i know ash can literally lift it as if was nothing in evil dead, but that somehow made sense seeing the chainsaw itself was rather compact and often used as a slash kind of weapon.

Can anyone think of where the BLU and RED team logos appear throughout the game? file names would be ideal but just locations are fine.
so far I have:
-the Heavy's sandvich tin
-the control point holograms
-the 2fort intel rooms and corridor
I'm working on one of those alternate team skins and just making sure I haven't missed anything.
Shouldn't the pull be facing the other side so Engineer could hypothetically start it up? :v:
Thanks for pointing that out haha. It is supposed to be a modified chainsaw and seeing as most chainsaws have the rip cord on there right sides (I assume because most people are right handed) it made sense to leave it there. Lets just say the Engineer controls it with his thoughts and left the rip cord in because it looks cool in first person.

I see where you are coming from but stylisticly I wanted something vintage and 50s and bulky. When I was looking for a nice design for a chainsaw of the period I absolutely feel in love the "Mall" brand chainsaws and machinery. It felt perfect for the era and also really reminded me of the dispenser/teleporter/sentry type machinery the Engineer already uses.

I hope I'm not the only one who sees the similarities! In terms of the blade, that is as small as I can go. Any more and It starts to feel like a midget chainsaw instead of a zombie cutting Chain-Arm!
I accept your criticism but the item is too far down development to be properly resized to fix this, sorry.
requesting help from a fellow modeler :p
so... im kinda stuck here, i got alot of stuff going on (as usual, whenever i start getting intensively working on a project again, shit goes south) and i dont know if im going to have enough time to make the carriage for the tank, if its not too much to ask, could someone model the concept for me? I just need the model... uv's would be appreciated, but arent needed... (expierienced modelers only please :p)
:/
[sp]also, i found out in my testing, if you use the co-op matchmaking system, 9/10 you will find a sv_pure server making this useless unless you are able to find servers in the old server browser[/sp]
Also, would anyone mind linking me to that suit vest?
EDIT: Nevermind, found it after nearly 2 minutes of searching.

That way he could maybe use the Organ Grinder taunt as well.
