Team Fortress 2: Mascots Edition, I like it though! Grats to everyone who got items in the autumn crate! Also grats to Ned for the schema =)
Regardless of original texture quality, I'm against it on account of my stance against hats based on random historical stereotypes.
I wouldn't consider it random, rather building on an aspect of the Soldier's character. While the Soldier is an over-the-top satire on unsubtle patriotism, Meet the Soldier implies a hero-worship for Sun Tzu, the very un-American philosopher on war. This has been built upon in such a way that Soldier appreciates the headwear of any military figure, despite their handicap of being not-American. I mean, I guess one could handwave it by claiming the Soldier broke into a museum (except in the case of the Tyrant's Helm, which clearly comes from some 21st century tourist gift shop in Gamla Stan, Stockholm), but they still look visually random and out of place. The Stahlhelm's fine, though.
so what's the longest period of time there's been between an item's submission and it being accepted into game?
Stylish Spy.
so what's the longest period of time there's been between an item's submission and it being accepted into game?
might actually be the hot dogger, that took about 2 years to be added
However the shortest as far as I know is still the Headsplitter, which was submitted like a week before it got in. Not including promos, of course, but I imagine those get done waaaaaay before they're added, since that's a thing Valve does with the other company.
spats
Yeah those were like. 4 days or some shit.
Wow. Sorry Trey, it seems you've been outclassed on impressing Valve.
Beggar's Bazooka was around for a long time before being added

I wish they'd add more of the top rated things, and I also wish they'd put some more goddamn thought into what they add. They're way too damn random.
I think the new items are nice. They may not have been the most popular, but they're all good items and we even got a bunch of new contributors with self mades now.
and some spending money life gets better once you get to buy your own shit whenever you want.
I'm not even a contributor and I do this! I love having an awesome job.
yea, I like not even caring. "Oh, this game is 15 dollars. Pfft, okay" 2 months ago I'd have to make my 200 dollars Christmas/Birthday money last an entire year. Now I get some nice money in the bank every two weeks and I don't have to stretch 200 dollars for an entire year anymore. It's kind of nice living at home, no bills or anything either, so it's just money in the bank
On average, how much do you guys get from your weapons?
and some spending money life gets better once you get to buy your own shit whenever you want.
I get dat minimum wage brah holla
i got around $175 the last few months, but august got me $600 don't know why this includes head warmer and stamp sales, but let's be honest, stamps get you nothing. [editline]7th September 2012[/editline] also i don't even have my first job yet so getting paid for the last two years off of a hobby has been p cool
Cremator's conscience averages at around 450-500$ a month. Gotta thank everyone for that (a lot <3) since it helped me pull my parents out of debt and it keeps me alive alongside my 90$ a month military salary.

I had a butt load of this thing I had this thing so many times I could have made an army of pilots

Since soldier fought the nazis himself in WWII (and beyond) it seems entirely plausible he'd have taken one of their helmets as a trophy. Or he may have even dropped his amidst of battle and grabbed the closest one from a dead kraut.

Gerre made a basemesh for my gargoyle. Going to implement it in zbrush now. Doesn't look like much atm, but it will in the near future.
Looks like a bad illumposition, if the model is not at the origin then you need to set an illum position for the model to take lighting information from. Easiest way is to move the bone and model nearer to the origin.
Thanks. A guide told me to delete illumposition saying it was useless.
