Probably late but you really have to call it Poofy Joe
not too late at all, might use that was thinking "Miniature Monkeynaut" (there may be a Vladimir Bananas style)
Alliterations are stupidly overused and people should try to be more original. Like for example, the All Father. Now that's a clever name, the handsome man behind it must be a genius of some sort.
Puns can be clever, but very often just ends up being lame and cringeworthy. References are cool, but one seldom gets an opportunity to make one that is both fitting, short, witty and well known enough to work. Alliterations are easy, allows creative use of language, and tend to end up sounding well if you make them right, but they also run a great risk of sounding lame and forced. I think all three variants have their uses. Which one works best in any given case really just depends on the situation. Ah, and again:
Anyone want to get me up to speed regarding this whole VLEK vs Emporium thing? Everyone sort of treats him like a running joke here, but he nevertheless reads the thread and wants to join the update and acts friendly. I personally dislike the style and concepts of pretty much all his models, and I agree that his use of jigglebones is somewhat gratuitous, but there's no denying the guy is skillful, and in any case the Emporium doesn't usually ostracize people for being bad item makers alone. What's the history?
the only really objectionable thing VLEK did (at least that I'm aware of) was someone (forget who) posted a parrot on the workshop and VLEK commented on it advertising his parrot saying it was better. I don't think too many people really resent VLEK much, it's just fun to make jigglebone jokes.
Createvi: ecxiting Createvi: best hat ever bapaul: okay we're done bapaul: go make the promos bapaul: I'm getting us some selfmades Createvi: http://puu.sh/13gol Createvi: go post that on the emporium Bap :V
This guyis a fucking idiot. I don't think he quite understands how the workshop works, or that you don't report things before actually looking at them.

Sucks we can't have a vulcan raven style minigun for heavy cause backstabs [t]http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20060802225439/metalgear/images/2/22/Vulcan_Raven.jpg[/t]

So I'm having trouble compiling a soldier melee. I took the bones from the market gardener's model, duplicated them, and assigned them to the new mesh in Blender. But, whenever I try compiling, I get ERROR: cannot find bone weapon_bone for bbox Any reason why this might be?

The problem is the ammo belt going to the back. [editline]8th September 2012[/editline]
Puns can be clever, but very often just ends up being lame and cringeworthy. Ah, and again:
Vlek had a notoriously bad attitude back then in the beginning of the workshop. I think he even trash talked neo ( not sure of that ) about his item being better. I need help here. Am I misinformed or am I at least partly correct?

There's no way of cleverly integrating it into the model?

Textures! It's small so it's only 256x256. Front and back, RED and BLU. [t]http://i.imgur.com/DtJVm.png[/t] [t]http://i.imgur.com/Wawku.png[/t] I should add some worn edges but I am absolutely terrible at making worn edges. It's just beyond me. D:
its the easiest bit, you just render out a wireframe, then draw along the edges in a bright colour (thin brush) then you erase some bits and generally tweak it till it looks nice then do some grey edgewear on top of that using a similar method (but harder edges)

now to work out the positioning on each individual class :v:
it's getting there
The metal parts look organic, like they're made out of a rubber sculpt instead of metal. I don't know how else to put it. It looks strangely bulbous.
