The tissue and muscle that's on the outside of the machine is hooked into the neural network. This allows it to control those parts without the need of machine parts. This is also why Terminators stop speaking after losing too much of their face.

yeah, if we were being movie accurate the skeleton shouldn't have expression flexes. and it looks creepier in my opinion, which is good. but it's really not a huge deal either way

Maybe its me being a control nazi at not wanting the socket and eye to flex cuz in any physical sense, bones and skeletons wont create emotion, the facial muscles do.

Because around the eyes just looks like solid metal, so unless the model was changed to have moving parts there it'd be strange.
yeah the plan now it to fix the socket and eye so it wont clip with the face when it flexes. I'll have to use some antisymmetry illusion to pull it off.

Anyway... could you please also have a look at the skin edges of the face... some of it looks a bit weird all having the same skin color. Perhaps some of it should have a more red-ish color too, not necessarily gory looking though. Especially the part on the chin.
