Okay, how do I download the Vanilla Veteran? The site it takes me to has three download options, none of which that give me the mod.
Similarly, wasn't there a mod that made the Vanilla Veteran replace the MvM Canteens? Cause I'd like that.

Yeah, same here. Cortex command is probably my favorite indie game of all time for multiple reasons, plus they are releasing 1.0 finally soon.

I think you have too many layers of paintstrokes on the main body of the gun that are also too saturated/bright/visible/whatever. Same goes for the barrel. The rest of it looks pretty good. Not sure how I feel about the brass though - shiny, yes; a bit out of place, also yes. I'd at least like to see a version with the regular body color as well.
Also, sparkwire, do you care if I have a hand at this as well? I could always use the practice.

I think your angled strokes are throwing off the form of the gun.
With the strokes, you want to try to keep to the shapes and form. Straighter strokes are needed. Especially where the wood is, think of how it is in real life, the wood strokes should only go one direction.
Would seem better if it was an effect when killed, especially from headshots.

That's gonna get marked as incompatible, if not completely removed. Sad considering the work that went into it.
I...don't think that'd really be feasible. You can't just slap an equation on it and call it a day. Each possible outcome would have to be it's own entry in the game files, with it's own icon (unless the icons up to use one base icon and then apply a colour to it? Idk), name and colour info, and that's a lot of possible combinations.
533 to be exact, assuming that team colour paints would only mix with other team colour paints. If no mixing of team colour paints at all, only the single colours, it'd be 484. Waaaay too many.
Also assuming I mathed right. It's still a lot regardless.

I agree with this, but for the metal instead of the wood. The wood looks fine to me - your brush strokes on the metal are a bit too numerous, saturated, and angled.
