If the cosmetic has notable coloration or that is of a colorable material, and if paint can be attatched to it in a way that makes sense... then yes, it's a good idea to have it possible to paint. However if it's forcing paintability when it doesn't make any sense, it's better off not being paintable. I do for example not think that paintable lenses is something that goes well with that type of mask.
