Actually, Conker was a children's game on one of the Nintendo handheld consoles and became part of Diddy Kong Racing, I think. After that, Rare wanted to make a platformer game for children that included Conker but they thought if they did that, everyone would think they would only make children's games. After that, they altered it and we got the game we know today.
