I have a custom model that makes it look a lot more detailed and pretty, which makes me like it.

The original model and texturing of the hotrod look like bleh, and no amount of extra animation can fix it. It's not a bad hat by any means, but I'd much rather have the mining light over it.

Yeah, I think it's a shame when good hat concepts are ruined by bad detailing.

The Hotrod, the Sola Topi, and the Bloke's Bucket Hat all have the potential to be awesome, but they have terrible details that make them unlikable.
The Hotrod has unfitting color and a terrible decal, the Sola Topi lacks proper phong shading and look unnatural, the Bloke's Bucket Hats texture looks way too plain as if it had been drawn in ms paint.

The original Hotrod texture (with the 24 decal) was better than the current one.
If I ever come across one of these, the first thing I'll do will be to change the texture. Other than that, it is my favourite Engineer hat.

It doesn't' matter that it takes less items to craft a hat now, the nerfed amount of items we receive made it a lot less helpful of a fix :(
