Getting close to 3 refined metals, wondering if it's better to just randomize it and and try my luck or just go for a class specific hat (since I'd REALLY like a spy hat and have no hats)
So I'm just back from random hat craft. Guess what I got.

Luckily I think it's pretty good hatless and I wanted to get rid of those headphones long ago. So I'm not really disappointed.

When I had no hats, I always went to craft specific hats.
The time it took me enough to get a specific hat, would often be enough to give me a randomly dropped hat in between... and when you craft specific you make sure you get a hat for a class you want it the most for.

So unless you play every class... or if you're really desperate to get any hat and are willing to risk it being for a class you don't play... go specific.
Random is better when you already have hats for most classes you play, or when you just want a new hat and don't care which one it is for.

I personally like hatless Scout.
It is perhaps no the most interesting of the TF2 hats around, but I still think it suits him and looks better than certain other hats.
