Agreed, part of the fun of the gifts last year was the competitiveness to reach them. Still, this looks like it's going to be another fun TF2 Halloween. MvM makes it even better!

It enforced A: Playing faster classes because if you were a heavy or whatever good fucking luck B: Camping, I would often get into matches where a medic that was about to uber me would run off because I WANT THE PRESENT. This is very very welcome.

What a bunch of cheatin' jerks!

So instead of costumes, we get potions now that apparently adds Unusual Effects too. Not bad, but I'll laugh/cry my ass off if they make those effects Halloween/Full Moon restricted.

It stopped gameplay and made everyone (who wasn't an admin, they'd just noclip) turn into scout to run after the gift. It was an awful system.

I just noticed that the Zombie Soldier has a similar, if not the same, hole in his torso area from Meet the Pyro.

Personally, I hate the Horsemann. Random, largely unavoidable death from a bot isn't fun. Even if you do enjoy fighting him, his appearance derails the game just as much as the gifts do.

Welp zombie engineer. Better be a dispenser with the engi legs or I will be sad.

I don't wanna sound like a dick, but why the fuck were you all playing on servers where the admins would cheat to get the present? It just seems silly to continue playing on those servers. I'm pretty alone in my opinion, but I enjoyed the combat being broken up for a few seconds while everyone makes a mad dash for the present.

But with the gift is just a dick fest of FaN scouts that ruins the fun. About the servers, I was playing last year on Jman server (the guy who made the Jag and the Detonator) and he was a huge dick: He took all the gifs with a teleport command and he when arround banning any person who came close to the gift. Good thing I found a server with smart people and we took turns and didn't end in a underworld deathmatch for the bombinomicon.

But I'd go spy, infiltrate enemy lines, and stealthily conduct nefarious acts and when the gift spawn I'd get an adrenaline rush to try and find it, I got so pumped... I'm going to miss that...

From what I remember most of the tf2 section people I knew at least stayed to a server that jessecar hosted to have people take gifts in turn. I was one of the admins that spent several hours doing it manually because the plugin naturally broke.

After that I stopped playing on those servers. Bunch of cheaters there anyway.
