Pet items are overrated and pointless as all hell. An owl has no ties to any of the classes, and Archimedes at least has a point to be in-game as he's heavily referenced in recent Meet the Team videos and other official TF2 media. The parrot was the last straw with pet items, and the Balloonicorn at least is Pyrovision only. The fact that an owl would even perch on someones shoulder in a warzone without getting spooked by all the gunfire, explosions and whatnot is even more ridiculous. Other than that, the texture work is bland, and Sniper would probably have skinned it before befriending it. :siren: :siren: :siren: :siren: :siren:
IN MY OPINION
:siren: :siren: :siren: :siren: :siren:
I hope you don't mind me adding something to say. The owl is a nocturnal predator. Striking it's victim when it least knows it. So does the Sniper. And all cosmetic items are pointless, kind of.
Of how much he hates being asked Scout related questions and stuff on his youtube channel
Thanks. I had no idea he frowned upon it.
You're forgetting the retarded cat in a pocket
but... but guize its a cat LOL isn't that funny and cute and kawaii?????

Respectfully, because you were eloquent and reasoned well. also i see your url on the "."! clever little monkey Besides, it's better then that Engineer cat. (which isn't saying much but whatevs)
You're forgetting the retarded cat in a pocket
Oh god yes that abomination.
The Heavy's a huge big fluffy thing from somewhere in Russia, hey, great idea: new bear cub for heavy. Sits in his pocket. 10/10, ship it now. (<< satire) Either way, an owl is smart enough to not sit on the shoulder of a particularly high priority target, especially not with a rifle being fired right next to it. It'd fly off in seconds, although the thing's so motionless that Sniper must've had it stuffed beforehand, whether or not it was alive at the time.

And if the owl is stuffed, where is the issue? Edit: I don't want to seem rude. I don't mean anything mean. I respect your opinion about it. I'm just surprised over the amount of trash talk it gets.
wait why is he recording audio for today's update today
wait why is he recording audio for today's update today
Why does it matter, they can quickly snap the sounds in, what, 15 minutes?
wait why is he recording audio for today's update today
He tweeted that on the 15th of October. Edit: That ninja post. <3

Though a few species of owls have successfully been used in falconry, I doubt they would work to well on a battlefield. But then again neither should throwing jars of piss or not-milk, bringing a fish in to battle, wearing all kinds of cumbersome hats and badges, swords and shields and bows and arrows against people with machine guns, sandwiches, plaster busts of socrates, icicles and numerous other things.

I don't really see the big deal with pets being in TF2. To me it's another option for a player to express what he/ she likes in the game - but I do see where you're coming from when it comes to relativity to the game's lore, however. I do agree some of the pets such as that...cat in Engie's pocket are completely random and have no relevance to anything, but what can you do really.
Urgh, I remember the flood of shitty pet miscs that exploded all over the workshop when the balloonicorn came out.
Urgh, I remember the flood of shitty pet miscs that exploded all over the workshop when the balloonicorn came out.
They tried to compete against Mad Cap.

Such as a cat which everyone will find adorable and cute "a must have". And we are all known with the average workshop commenter?
I hate every pet item except archimedes especially that hideous cat and the fucking ugly stupid pointless robro
Robro's alright. Rest can go fuck themselves.

Engy and Medic are the only ones, and they've been given pets, but certainly not in the best way. I prefer that things in the game stay at least slightly plausible, but bringing a dose of avian warfare into this is just plain silly. That's 3 birds for 3 different classes, to go with one restricted hallucination, one terrified moggy and one robot which I think would be a bit unfitting to whine about in this particular post. [editline]beans[/editline]
I think the Heavy is unrelated here. And if the owl is stuffed, where is the issue? Edit: I don't want to seem rude. I don't mean anything mean. Raccoon pet for soldier would cause a shit-storm wouldn't it?
At least a raccoon would be canon, like archimedes

Those little subtle "pet" items I like. The koala is a bit much but it's better than one hanging off his neck or something.

I think a poorly designed model sticks out far more like a sore thumb in the TF2 world than a decent looking model that has no relevance. And you don't have to avoid complaining about the robro infront of me, you're free to express your opinions however you feel.
