well im not even sure what original universe even means like if you use tf2 models or maps you're clearly not using an "original universe" so what does that category even have to do with tf2...?
It means a universe made from scratch.
as far as i recall, you're free to use "any Valve IP" for the saxxys. that includes HL, L4D, CS, DOTA and TF2. and yeah, ricochet too. the "Original Universe" description clearly states: "Must be the original creator of all content featured in the video.". basically, create a new map/enviroment/models and use SFM as an animation tool. wich is the reason valve made SFM public after all, to market it as a way more flexible/accesible animation tool not only for games, but for visual productions as well(and the integration between both platforms).
Meet the Dumpster Diver is my favourite entry so far.
Have they even added the in-game submission button for replays?
Yes. when you go to uploading a video, there's a parameter below unlisted that allows you to submit it to Saxxies. It is not well advertised. [editline]10th November 2012[/editline] I also have a proposition for you all. With the Saxxies only five days away, we have no time to make any SFM masterpieces. But, what of replays? I think we could churn out some replay scenarios collaboratively within five days. How about? Facepunch collaborative Saxxy replay project?
I sincerely hope this gets some exception for being over 5 minutes long because holy shit best overall, so far.
Facepunch collaborative Saxxy replay project?
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1153412 I'm sure there are plenty of ideas there.
It's a shame that there doesn't seem to be a way to submit Replays (even though they say it's done through the Replay function in-game, there doesn't seem to be any Saxxy option). I probably wouldn't win, but it'd be nice to enter...
http://www.facepunch.com/threads/1153412 I'm sure there are plenty of ideas there.
Those are elaborate SFM projects for the most part. Replay needs to be a lot subtler and faster. There isn't time for all of that.
I wish I could handle SFM as masterfully as all of these great authors, but unfortunately I'm limited to only replays. Talk about putting all your eggs in one basket--I really wish there were multiple replay categories this year.
Oh wow that turbine trap is genius.
Oh wow that turbine trap is genius.
Bah, I've seen a video of that done in 2Fort years ago.
Bah, I've seen a video of that done in 2Fort years ago.
Indeed. It isn't a new trick.
Just finished a replay entry I started on yesterday. Idea was older, but I'd forgotten about it until a day ago, but since time is of the essence, I had to spend several hours last night to make sure it got done ASAP. It's a replay entry, so tell me what you all think
The idea is good, but the sound is messy.
The idea is good, but the sound is messy.
You're right. Sony Vegas was compressing the sound for no reason. I re-uploaded and tried to fix that. Tell me if it's any better.
Heck yes, I finally got Source Filmmaker installed correctly!... Now to rush an animation in 2 days
