I want more robots with wacky forms like in serious sam 2 :v:
I'd pay to see a headless bomb-carrying screaming Demobot as a replacement for Sentry Busters.
Just beat my first Mann Up mission. It was pretty damn tough, but i managed to get through and got that sweet new badge and 3 weapons
3 weapons being....?
How difficult would it be to implement the robots on "Grey" team as actual players? Since you actually have to artificially "fill" the server to 32 players (minus 6) it seems like it can be done. I know I would have a blast playing as a sentry buster or maybe one of the robot demoknights.
This is what excites me most about the future of MvM. I assume Valve will continue to support it by adding new things, but I think the community will start having fun with new mods and add-ons in no time.
Don't be surprised to see an early warning before 4 PM CDT, Eric said that what was supposed to be yesterday's update is now going to be today's.
I played MvM on a server that had custom waves. GIANT MEDIC WITH BLUTSAUGERS GIANT SNIPERS WITH MACHINAS GIANT SPIES HEAVIES WITH HOLIDAY PUNCH Engineers and Giant Engineers also spawned, but since they have no robot model, they spawned as humans. Still made robots sounds.
I'm not sure if i'm late, but the AWPer Hand uses the default sniper rifle's crit sound.

2.5 scrap for everyone :D

Just tried Mann Up mode. It was incredibly pleasant! We never managed to take that last wave, but I really liked my teammates. That alone was worth the dollar (although yeah, I realize I haven't used the ticket). I did discover something small, but odd: my strange medi gun still tracked every single Ubercharge, so if you care about your stats, you might want to switch to the stock for MvM. (Our pyro must have invested mainly in air-blasts, because it pretty clearly made him our mvp)
Didn't think it was worth a thread, so I'm posting this here in case some people wanted to try it out; you can set the difficulty of MvM through console, saves the immense effort of putting up a poll to do it. :v: The command is "tf_mvm_popfile [filename]" where filename indicates the population file you want to use. The following popfiles can be used:
mvm_coaltown - 6 Waves, starts with 32 Heavyweight Champs and 21 Scouts. mvm_coaltown_advanced - 7 Waves, starts with 50 Scouts, 18 soldiers, and 22 Heavies. mvm_coaltown_advanced2 - 6 Waves, starts with 45 Scouts, 20 Pyros, 22 Soldiers, 8 Heavies, and 8 Übermedics. mvm_decoy - 8 Waves, starts with 48 Scouts, 16 Pyros. mvm_decoy_advanced - 8 Waves, starts with 3 Giant Pyros, 55 regular Pyros, and 33 Heavyweight Champs. mvm_decoy_advanced2 - 6 Waves, starts with 6 Giant Minor League Scouts, 36 Heavyweight Champs, and 16 regular Minor league scouts. mvm_mannworks - 7 Waves, starts with 48 Soldiers, 40 Scouts. mvm_mannworks_advanced - 7 Waves, starts with 55 Soldiers, 18 Pyros. mvm_mannworks_ironman - 3 Waves, starts with 2 Giant Heavies, 2 Giant Tanks, 18 Soldiers, 24 Pyros, 12 Steel Gauntlets, 24 Demoknights. (Oh god)
Some of these can be put up simply as advanced or advanced2, but to revert back to normal you have to type them fully. You can check what spawns on the other waves by taking a quick glance at the pop files themselves. Also worthy of note is that these can be used on any of the MvM maps, not just their respective maps. [sp]I hope I'm not late, I just spent about half an hour mucking around with MvM console commands.[/sp]
Or just have a server using the valve voting and enable the new MvM specific voting modes. Sure a sourcemod plugin will make these votable via sourcemod. Additionally the power of pop files to create custom missions is awesome. Just wish the bots were able to equip 2 misc items and had all the bodygroups the main classes do, soldier hat and sniper hat are the 2 that annoy me most. Created a giant kritz medic bot wearing the tyrolean and Archemedes to imitate myself. Spawning a human engie amongst the robot horde was pretty funny.

Mediguns don't affect enemy bots, so their counters still go up. Same goes for allies extinguished strange part.

Also, when I was playing MvM for the first time, I was surprised by the lack of scoring, or at least the lack of obvious scoreboards. That's one thing I feel the mode was sorely lacking. I'd love to know more than just the number of robots I've killed, and I also want to know how useful my teammates are at a quick glance.

Surprisingly, we made it to fifth wave with pure liquid teamwork, then that goddamn glitch happened. Bombhole blows up and we didn't lose. Soon afterwards pretty much everybody ragequit because there was nothing left to fight for, team spirit went to shits. What a shame. What a rotten way to leave server. /also, can't you make mediguns charge up faster with upgrades? And don't they recharge instantly during setup? That could be very easy to exploit.
Was interesting to see the unused bot presets in the pop files. How holiday punch heavies were supposed to be gnomes at 65% normal size with the all father and point and shoot equipped. Or how there are jarate only snipers but are disabled because there are no animations for them yet.
Bleh, I keep getting put on good teams, but EVERY TIME after the match is over, the server shuts down. Anyone want to team up?
The Second Annual Saxxys! blog post
Plus a bugfix update tonight!
I'm having a problem in some servers when the wave fails the map doesn't seem to reset, the bomb area stays in its 'exploded' stage. Some servers also have this really wierd stuttering lag (not FPS lag) which seems to occur only when you're playing (not when you're spectating), it starts as soon as the bots show up. Anyone have this problem?
If the mvm maps have a timelimit and it runs out wave fails will no longer fail.
I hope they fix it soon, most servers I manage to get onto are not dedis and they tend to have default time settings.
So SFM only? It doesn't have much to do with tf2 then, even if they can use the assets.
Not even going to bother with this.

Winner of Best Overall will be flown to Valve for a filmmaking session with Valve's Source Filmmakers, and have the chance to see their work aired on GTTV's VGA preshow this December.
Don't you want to be flown to Valve? [editline]17th August 2012[/editline]
So SFM only? I thought they said fall not winter

Is there something else to do after editing the mvm_upgrades.txt serverside? I'm trying to do the mini sentries thingy but it isn't working.
Speaking of which.... (They should fix that)
I've had a ton of good replays ruined by the game crashing because of model errors. It's disheartening. I'm not even that good at video editing. And I'm no storywriter. I could pull off a GG2-centric parody of the Fez trailer, but I probably don't have the skills to choreograph and animate it. I do have the hardware to, at least :v:
>SFM only fucking give up now, I lost already. Not a chance in hell I can compete with the people who've been pros since Pyromania.
