My friend told me about a tiny Heavy model in the files, wearing an All-Father, Point and Shoot and the Holiday Punch earlier. He called it the Gnome Heavy, fittingly. Anyone care to explain?
What class uses grenades as a weapon.
Yet the Demo didn't kill a pyro at around 1 minute in Meet The Demoman. (He was talking about meet the heavy apparently)
Also, this might get me boxes, but why do people hate the grordbort items?
They don't fit the art style in many people's opinions.

I wonder if they will ever put a Dota 2-style main menu with built in chat. I was certain the binaries suggested that... [editline]18th August 2012[/editline] Also just noticed the used bullets come out of your face with the awper hand.

i like how it's better to punch a tank than to shoot at it with a gatling gun as a heavy
I'm curious what the snowy MVM map featured in the trailer and the artwork for the tank boss was.
I'm curious what the snowy MVM map featured in the trailer and the artwork for the tank boss was.
modified viaduct I guess
I'm curious what the snowy MVM map featured in the trailer and the artwork for the tank boss was.
It was Viaduct not an MVM map.
It was Viaduct not an MVM map.
that looked nothing like viaduct
I'm still confused on Mann Up mode. Does only the party leader need a ticket for everyone to play and get drops, or does EVERYONE need one ticket to get drops out of it?
that looked nothing like viaduct
the only thing they share is the bridge over the point, but yes it was Viaduct. Heavily modified. As in, Meet The Medic.
the only thing they share is the bridge over the point, but yes it was Viaduct. Heavily modified. As in, Meet The Medic.
Meet the medic was based on another map?
Ladies and gentlemen, I do believe we should begin speculating to what the best series of team combinations are for MvM. All I know is that I was kicked from an MvM game, we got to wave 8, and I went to play spy to pick off all the medics to prevent Ubered-bots dropping the bomb. (Which is a bullshit move, may I add.) They all blamed me, because I was playing spy and not a "Heavier damage dealing class". ... FOOLS.
Meet the medic was based on another map?
Badwater Basin I think.
I'm still confused on Mann Up mode. Does only the party leader need a ticket for everyone to play and get drops, or does EVERYONE need one ticket to get drops out of it?
Everyone needs one ticket to be able to play.
I hope we get the Scout- and Medic Dr. Grordbort packs soon, Fallout New Vegas won't please my appetite for long. I need more lasers.
http://newvegas.nexusmods.com/mods/42666

They all blamed me, because I was playing spy and not a "Heavier damage dealing class". ... FOOLS.
Based on my experience so far: First, let me preface this by saying that most any class can be useful, in the hands of a very smart/skilled player, but most of the time I see the following: Having at least 1 pyro is a necessity. A flat out necessity. If the enemy cannot carry the bomb to the bomb-hole, you cannot lose. The very first thing a smart pyro buys with his $400 is all 4 airblast upgrades. Having 2 pyros can also be quite good, as pyro dies easilly enough that on later levels it may take 2 pyros to consistently keep bombs back. At least 1 engie is also needed, as transport to the front lines, and health/ammo at camp points are both very important, and the damage dealt by the sentry can be quite nice. Don't forget the massive opportunity for the Frontier Justice crits as well; 1-2 crits per easily killed scout-bot? Yes please. It can make the engie a nice damage dealer in his own right, in addition to the tactical advantages. A very important thing to remember is that with MvM, you don't really want concentrated high DMG (like sniper), because most of your targets are low HP and in a spread. This makes the heavy a wonderful and easy to play fallback choice for new MvM players, or just to fill a slot. You typically want at least 1 heavy. Demo can be nice with Scot-Resist to take out whole groups as they jump down, he'll just need to be quick on the trap laying though. Grenades are ok for certain stronger enemies as well. Theoretically 2 or 3 demos could keep up a solid trap defense for quite a while, but once enmies get past their traps they are left scrambling. Maybe have 1 on your team if the person is good with Scot-Resist. Soldier....ehh... Upgraded manglers are nice, and the range on rockets can be good, but depending on loadout, some sollys push towards the "concentrated attack" type of thing that isn't suited for the low-hp dispersed targets type on thing that MvM is. A good solly with Mangler and Buff banner (for critting your team for quick tank removel) can be a good asset though. Good for taking down things like huge heavies as well. Scouts......oh how I detest them.... Look, maybe if you are a prime battle scout, you'll do well, but 90% of scouts I see do nothing but grab money. Anyone can grab money. Yes, I know they have a bunch of cool upgrades, but most people just suck as scout. Most people. Most useful thing I see is chasing down enemy scouts with the bomb, but even that I prefer pyro for personally. Medic....well... The Kritz can be useful, and I've not tested to see how the Uber Saw works, but witha few nice stabs you could potentially keep your heavy Kritz'd most of the time. My feeling on medic is neutral. It can be hard for a medic to make up for the loss of an entire damage dealing player, particularly with the "health on kill" bonuses so readily available. A good heavy/kritz-ubersaw-medic pairing can be a wonder though. Spy. Honestly, I really just don't know. Much like scout, 90% of spies are utter garbage. "Lolololol imma backstab robots lololol" doesn't exactly help your team. For now, I'd recommend against being a spy unless you want your team to rage, and like losing. Once proper strategies are developed, spy may become a more useful class. It may also be dependent on the type of enemy mixes you get with a particular map. Sniper: in my opinion, the most useless class for MvM. Every sniper I've seen does terrible, and ends up just gunning with SMG. What exactly is the point in sniping 1 of 20 scouts, when a pyro can run through and take out all of them? For larger targets, a soldier can do fine as well, while being useful for other smaller target groups. I'm not saying there is no way to be a good sniper, but honestly, the type of damage you want to deal in MvM (a spread of medium consistent DMG) is pretty much the opposite of what a sniper is. Jarate is nice though at times. Any thoughts? Or similar/contrary experiences? Also, remember to judge the usefulness of a character against the usefulness of the other classes, not against the stock character. Just because a class gets some nice buffs doesn't mean it's as well suited for MvM as other classes. Edit: OK pageking? Have a Tobor. Edit2: would those of you disagreeing / rating "dumb" please quote the portion of the post you take issue with, and explain? I'd like to have a dialogue going on here so we can all learn about what to use in MvM, and setup teams that actually work. It sucks when you end up with a terribly matched team, and people only figure it out halfway through, change to a new class, and must upgrade all over again. Usually that's when you get stuck and people just leave. It's frustrating.
what the hell is mvm doing at least i own this hat...
mvm update is one of the worst updates ever for server ops
So I read the other day that Castle Crashers was officially announced for Steam. Am I late?
