Half the time when I make those posts it's because I know that my ideas are flawed and it's just fun to see the next half-page being centered on disagreeing with me in different ways.
So you were only pretending?
Did the beta just get a 1 GB update for anyone else?
Did the beta just get a 1 GB update for anyone else?
probably just synching
New beta update, not enough to need its own thread here:
- Performance improvements - Sync'd with recent changes from Team Fortress 2 - Updated Steam binaries

New beta update, not enough to need its own thread here:
Oh look, no MvM servers in TF2 Beta.
why even bother?
why even bother?
I'd love to bother with beta, but the last time they tested balance changes they didn't actually give us the weapons in question to mess with. I still do play it every so often. Well, not in the last two months since there was nothing to test, but still.
So you were only pretending?
I meant it, but I knew I was wrong and posted it for the lulz.

The problem is that now that MvM has been released, Valve could test weapons on Beta again just like they did with the Uber Update, but that isn't going to happen. This pageking needs some balance.
this may not be the right place to ask, but has anyone figured out how to get the silver botkiller weapons? i know you get the gold ones from mann up i think.
this may not be the right place to ask, but has anyone figured out how to get the silver botkiller weapons?
Same way you get the gold ones.
Same way you get the gold ones.
okay, thanks mate c:
In all my years of biology, I haven't heard of a pigeon that was capable of mimicry. Why would Valve make Archimedes capable but the Birdman of Aberdeen incapable?

pigeon
You do realize Archimedes is a dove.
Equalizer nerf was quite welcome. It was annoying to take down a Soldier to < 50HP only for him to take out his melee and then mow me down. I think the Escape plan should be nerfed though, damage wise. It should deal the same base damage as the Equalizer.
"They nerfed the weapon to shit because I can't aim well enough to kill a soldier who has less than 50 HP. NOW NERF IT SO IT'S COMPLETELY USELESS INSTEAD OF JUST PARTIALLY, AND IT'LL BE PERFECT!" [editline]28th August 2012[/editline]
Amputator - 20% damage vulnerability while taunting: Doesn't punish players who don't taunt by slapping an unnecessary downside on them and also prevents people from spamming the healing taunt. Boom. Headshot. I have balanced the Amputator.
You do realize that the amputator's downside is that the enemy team will target you even more than they already do because of your buff capability, right?
You do realize that the amputator's downside is that the enemy team will target you even more than they already do because of your buff capability, right?
Oh boy, this again. I thought we'd escape the debate, but nope.
This might not be well understood or agreed with, but I recently felt like the Cloak and Dagger is a little overpowered. I mean, I haven't seen anyone using the Vanilla watch in ages, they either have a Dead Ringer or a Cnd. I mean, I know the stats are different and all, but it still sort of renders the default useless.
The only good use for the cloak & dagger are: -Piss off people on arena mode/ Vs Saxton Hale. -Zombie fortress. -Pretend to be batman and watch the map from the shadows. -And this: Anything else, the normal watch is by FAR the best watch.
You do realize that the amputator's downside is that the enemy team will target you even more than they already do because of your buff capability, right?
There is literally nothing higher in priority than a medic. EDIT: Except for the final control point. /EDIT The amputator does not change that.
You do realize Archimedes is a dove.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Columbidae Pigeons and doves are the same thing.
Something like that may stop situations where spies who've been found out and taken loads of damage still prolong an encounter by refusing to drop cloak, even when they're in a situation where they've 'lost'.
I'm not sure I've ever had this as a problem. If you're following an incompetent spy who used the DR at the first shot, he's probably running straight to the nearest ammo source, which makes him an even easier target. At any rate, I'd much rather give up my death feigning than my damage resistance. Knowing there's a limit would mess with nearly every strategy for the watch. edit: although come to think of it, the shield idea is pretty good on its own. maybe for a new watch or something? or maybe a new watch for just damage resistance, i dunno
You do realize Archimedes is a dove.
Pigeon and dove tend to be used as interchargeable terms, and, if you decide to get anal about it, doves can be considered a subset of pigeons.
Off topic, but I like the banner for TF2 Beta. Pyro doing his thing was always cool to me.
tf2 beta - performance improvements
..are these new improvements? *rainbows*
..are these new improvements? *rainbows*
Exactly, they improved on the rainbows.. They made the Rainblower not drop your game to 10 FPS.
You do realize You do realize
No, I don't realize. That term is annoying as it is, don't use it twice in the same post. It makes you look like a pretentious smartass. ~~*PHRASE USE 101*~~
holy wow. Why is the Manmelter almost 700 dollars from Weta. Good lord.
Exactly, they improved on the rainbows.. They made the Rainblower not drop your game to 10 FPS.
Anything else of interest, like making the Phlog no longer shoot a high-temperature stream of PC-clusterfucking lagbeams?
holy wow. Why is the Manmelter almost 700 dollars from Weta. Good lord.
Presumably because if you press a hidden switch on it, it has enough power to melt a man in seconds.
holy wow. Why is the Manmelter almost 700 dollars from Weta. Good lord.
I could've sworn that it was cheaper before. Whatever, if I ever wanted to get something from Weta, I'd be the Righteous Bison, or the Pomson. But let's be honest, the only way I'd ever get the Pomson is if I become an eccentric millionaire. Because there's no way in hell I'm getting a REPLICA ray gun for 4K. I expect to be paying that much for a real indivisible particle smasher.
Does anyone know what the next SFM session being released is? I know the ones who got the closed beta get it ahead of time. I actually have the closed beta, shocking because my specs are absolute shit and wouldn't be able to run it, and therefore can't install it to see the goodies it has in store.

Can someone please explain to me who the fuck Dr. Grordbort is and what media he's involved in?
