isnt the flyswatter kill icon already in game?
on principle I don't ever want any reskins, no matter how much the stats fit it hurts sales
on principle I don't ever want any reskins, no matter how much the stats fit it hurts sales
Well I do agree with you there. It's just that if for whatever reason Valve decides that the Flyswatter should be a reskin, the Disciplinary Action is the way to go. (And they probably would make it a reskin. Ya'll should know how Valve works by now.)
They could make it a reskin of the Equalizer with the sounds of the Disciplinary Action.
I still want that Flyswatter.
The Flygineer's biggest natural predator.
The Flygineer's biggest natural predator.
that's how it was showcased on the actual update page, I remember there was a lot of speculation about how an anti-engineer soldier melee could work, which obviously led to nothing, since no flyswatter was actually put in the game.
I thought the Flyswatter kill icons were taken out along with the Baleful Beacon on Pyromania.
on principle I don't ever want any reskins, no matter how much the stats fit it hurts sales
I'll allow myself to support just one reskin. The Candy Cane. A weapon I want to use but won't because of how it looks.
Does anyone want to hear my stupid idea on how to update or re-release TF2 on 360?
I'll allow myself to support just one reskin. The Candy Cane. A weapon I want to use but won't because of how it looks.
What about Bootlegger to Ali Baba's Wee Booties?
I'll allow myself to support just one reskin. The Candy Cane. A weapon I want to use but won't because of how it looks.
I agree with this. Spy-cycle and the Holiday Punch make sense for their model, as the stats somewhat fit. The Candy Cane's stats however could work perfectly well with another weapon, and right now seems to be one of the most gimmicky weapons, having christmas written all over it. No other item has this, not even the other Smissmass or Halloween items (UHHHH even works!)
What about Bootlegger?
I like the Bootlegger, but it would be nicer if it had been given unique stats. I think it's too late to go and add new stats to reskins now, but at least the Bootlegger is one of the exceptions where the reskin matches or exceeds the quality of the item it reskins
I'll allow myself to support just one reskin. The Candy Cane. A weapon I want to use but won't because of how it looks.
It would be sweet if they made a good reskin of it.
sweet
That's an awful pun.
I like the Bootlegger, but it would be nicer if it had been given unique stats. I don't think doing such would be overpowered (as long as the buff was not unreasonably big) since replacing the grenade launcher is still a pretty major downside. I think 50% less self-inflicted damage on Bootlegger would be fitting (because he's only got 50% legs to hurt from explosive jumps) and would make it a minor Demoman Gunboats. While for the Baba's Booties, give them the ability to levitate while charging. Like the hover boots in Ocarina of Time, so that he could cross large gaps or run off an edge to fall down on enemies from above. I think it could be fitting due to them having a bit of a magical genie look to them.
That's an awful pun.
Not as bad as the Scout saying "YO WE'RE ON FIRE!" when actually being on fire...
Not as bad as the Scout saying "YO WE'RE ON FIRE!" when actually being on fire...
I thought that wasn't supposed to be a pun....
I thought that wasn't supposed to be a pun....
Well it's actually more of the player making the pun. Get set on fire as a Scout, C+5, hope for the "Yo we're on fire!" line.
Does anyone want to hear my stupid idea on how to update or re-release TF2 on 360?
Go on...
I'll allow myself to support just one reskin. The Candy Cane. A weapon I want to use but won't because of how it looks.
Reskin the Reskin! http://gamebanana.com/tf2/skins/119557
Reskin the Reskin! http://gamebanana.com/tf2/skins/119557
No. That deserves to be its own weapon, not a reskin.
Heh, I would like a soundmod/model change for the Huo Long Heater so that it sounds like an engine when running, and has more of a reason to be spitting out flames around the player. (Oh wait it already sounds like an engine, oops)
Can't see anything coming for today or tomorrow at the moment.
Any predictions on a (possible) big September Update?
I think the next "big" update will be halloween
Any predictions on a (possible) big September Update?
That September 2nd date is probably nothing (plus Valve would be pre-occupied with TI2), and unless they do a 2nd Manniversary update, not really.
Go on...
Well, as we know, the current TF2 has too much content for a 360 version. But we have to remember the promos. There is a butt load of promos in TF2, but how would Microsoft react to it? 1. Remove all the promos, unless the people that made the game that had promos for TF2 made the items achievement unlockable. If this happens, the only promos that can be gotten on launch of the new console version are: AWPer Hand (Unlocked by getting the "Battle Sight Zero" achievement) Bill's Hat (Unlocked by getting the "Kill Bill" achievement) Ellis' Cap and the Frying Pan (Unlocked by getting the "PRICE CHOPPER" and "CLUB DEAD", seperatly) Aperture Labs Hard Hat and the Resurrection Associate Pin (Unlocked by getting the "Tater Tote" and "Party of Three" achievement, seperatly) Mann Co. Cap (By buying something in the Mann Co. Store) And there could be achievments from other games that had promos on TF2 on 360, like Quantum Conundrum or Monday Night Combat. 2. Hats As we know, there are way too many hats, so, next to the on launch promo hats that might come, we must restrict the hats. My suggestion: Add every hat up until the Classless Update. 3. Weapons Every weapon that is in the game currenty will be in the game, except promo weapons and reskins. Also, on the same day that they re-release TF2 on 360, they also release reskins of the promo weapons, as they will be in the 360 version. Mann Co Store and trading Being one of Valve's main ways of getting dosh, the Mann Co. Store has gotten Valve lods of emone. But because they get a lot of money through the PC version, they can light it up a bit with the 360 version. The items in the store cost points and about one third of the profits go to Microsoft. Trading will be the same as TF2 before the Steam Trading thing came and the drop system is altered, so that you get items based upon doing objectives, and not how long you have been in the game. Like, if you get kills and cap the point and such, you have more chances of getting a hat, while if you are just standing around, you are limited to a weapon. Hats drop more than the PC version. Action items are not in the 360 version to save space. I'll add more to this list, but give me feedback or such about this idea. Rushed the promo weapons part.
The items in the store cost points and about one third of the profits go to Microsoft.
Microsoft would totally benefit from these "points". Pageking? Here, have a gnome.
:words:
Sounds quite solid. Hopefully with the rumored next-gen Xbox, Valve could re-release with even more stuff. [editline]28th August 2012[/editline]
Microsoft would totally benefit from these "points".
HINT: said points become cash to Microsoft
Although you, I, and we all both know that Valve are done with TF2 on consoles.
Yeah. Console companies need to change their ways for anyone to even think about porting something to a console.
