also Steam Greenlight comes out today
I was wondering why there was a section for it in the New Community Beta whilst it still wasn't out.
This isn't actually a glitch or anything. The giant robots actually have in game models (looking at the models in source SDK) with normal sized heads on purpose.
So they look stupid on purpose? :v:
I just noticed that the highest rated pyro, demo and engineer misc are all mine. And nothing is in yet. :(
So they look stupid on purpose? :v:
They probably tried a properly proportioned head and it looked worse or something.
Someone go get the inflator tool on Gmod or something.
If you buy the projectile killer upgrade with heavy, you can destroy anything that a friendly pyro reflects.

No, it's probably to make headshots consistent / less buggy.
And I'm fairly certain the boss models have a different running animation to match their speed, so it looks like they're actually walking instead of running in slow motion.
the guy that made the honchos headgear should submit the pipe it had again since soldier has a sigar now so they can't really say no.
I will predict that today will not have any updates, and I will eat a sock if there is one.
(I've eaten enough socks after that mis-conception on MvM not being released on a certain day, I don't think I can bear to eat another.)
But if there happens to be a new update, there better be some bug fixes, and balance fixes. And good balance fixes at that.
why not? It's thursday, the Dota Internationals are in a lull right now until tomorrow, and there's still MvM bugs to fix.
pretty sure we'll get an update I hope a new wepon is added

I still disagree, but if there is one, I hope they do release a new weapon.
A non-reskin weapon, that is.

That'll be on par with the cozy camper.
Cozy Camper excluded, this year has been pretty amazing when it comes to fun weapons.

yeah the triad weapons are so good
Cozy Camper excluded
hp regen is pretty fun underwater
plus your aim doesn't bob from the drowning
a gem in cp_well
The Cozy Camper got a little better at Pyromania. It could still stand to not slow Sniper as much even still.
But anyway, I believe we've only ever had 4 stat weapons added that weren't part of a larger update, the Rift promos, the Cozy Camper and Crit-a-Cola.
So the odds are against a new weapon
I honestly forget that they added health regen to the Cozy Camper.
I wish they didn't muck around with the speed penalty. It was amusing how incredibly slow the snipers became.

While it was humorous, it was a bit too big of a downside to warrant being unchanged. They lessened the downside so it would be approximately to where it was supposed to be, and then the health regen to make up for the loss of a secondary weapon.
Hah I remember when those came out, people shitting the bed because of the new Genuine quality and the controversy it caused (although having unique stat weapons only available by purchasing Rift for a month was a bad idea)
Interestingly, they never pulled that again. The next stat based weapon promo, Shogun, the items randomly dropped and were token crafted day one, with recipes only a week later. The Deus Ex were drop/craft (with recipes)/purchase day 1. Triad were craft(with recipes)/purchase day 1, and then dropped within a reasonable time frame.
So they really did learn to not do that with the Rift items. Kind of good the Rift items were not really all that great, which is too bad because I like the way the SVF looks.

The main reasons the RIFT items are so mediocre is because both classes have more effective weapons at melee range.
A Pyro has a far-more effective flamethrower to light people up in melee range. The Scout can just blast people with the scattergun to outdamage the crits, which are reliant on a teammate igniting them in the first place.
If it were up to me, Pyro would get both weapons with the SoaS using the 1-handed animations, and they would both be reworked to be utilities instead of killers (since Pyro already has more-effective killing weapons for both melee and for lighting people on fire). But it's a bit too late in the item's lifespan to make such a large change.

They were fun in medieval, but medieval didn't stay fun for too long (if at all, for some).
They still look cool though.

RIFT promo happened long before medieval mode was introduced. Even on release, the items were pointless to equip outside of screwing around.

Rift promos happened 2 months after Medieval mode was added (Dec 2010, Feb 2011)

this is a neat idea
the 2 attachments together would be worth it

RIFT promo was only 2011? I guess I mixed up the year :v:

Most of all the Herr Flick hat and Pyro Mohawk though.

And then Valve adds none of them.
