robin messaged me to remind him about our item next week due to them being busy in the internationals. Could be a whole valve thing and not just a dota 2 busy week.
Guys, he's referring to a dota 2 item. Not tf2, calm yourself with those informatives. You'll hurt yourself.

Not that I care at this point, we have everything we wanted since Christmas 2011
Not that I care at this point, we have everything we wanted since Christmas 2011
ummmm
ok
I am still painfully cynical about things that well known community item contibutors say. All that getting yanked about by their gut pre pyro up date was hard on the spirit man.
EDIT: Not that I don't want to, it's just that I remember everyone just going to Ronin and others and we get a "I'm feeling it tonight guys!" then nothing as we repeat the exact process the following week.
Well I have seen Valve employees that don't usually work on Dota 2 talking about how they've been helping set up the International 2 stuff, so I guess it's an across Valve thing.
yea, I think today is a huge day for everyone at Valve.
should have strange buff banner in next crate
i'm SURE robots would boost that
"Tracks number of enemies killed by teammates who are under the effects of the Buff when completing the kill"
Would be fun, you could see how helpful you've been.
it would probably just count number of boosts used

Along with the assists. Just like strange mediguns.
I don't know if we already resolved this issue, but I thought Testinglol said the first 3 maps would be Mannworks (which is in), Death Pit, and Cactus Valley? Why did they change the names of the other two maps?
dunno valve went retard and changed names randomly like how they did with soho. they also screwed up the map of gray mann land by putting stickers on it that has new names of the maps.

The name Coaltown is more suitable since the scenery focuses around a mine, and a museum focusing on the mining. There are 3 death pits, but other than that it's not really that pit-ridden.
Decoy was changed so that they could incorporate the Soldier into this. And frankly, I prefer the crudely-made decoy he's done -- he knew the robots were coming before anyone else.

I AM A ROBOT FROM THE FUTURE!

SPUF might be dying
Rumor has it all discussion will move over to http://steamcommunity.com/discussions/ and SPUF as we know it now will be retired.

They've already started, as the entire MvM section is on the steam discussions.

A relief, but kind of sad, seeing as that was the place where a lot of us first started our Valve forum experience.
That, and there's always a lot of losses when a forum dies. Imagine all of the archive links when looking up bugs...
so what happens if you break the rules on the new forums?
you get vac'd?

Nah, probably just unable to access those discussions. Like group chats.

Wondered how long it would take you to catch onto that one.
Assume people have seen the hidden marketplace strings in the latest client which people is assume to replace the trading forums.
SPUF has a lot of useful features on it discussions don't though, like post histories, rep, post rating and a pretty decent archive of tech solutions to game problems.

I hope that they either move all of the threads onto the new forum (probably better not to) or at least make the archive not look like basic HTML, like, keep it how it looks but remove the interactions.

Speaking of SPUF, a friend of mine told me that many people there say that the Detonator makes you lighter just by equipping it. Them drugs, man.
And speaking of jumping mechanics, the Market Gardener needs a buff to the crit mechanic itself.
The Market Gardener, as of now, only crits while in mid-air. If you start swinging in mid-air, and then land, you just deal normal damage. What the Market Gardener should do is have the Market Gardener do critical damage when starting to swing in mid-air. Then it can actually have more of a use than ever.
it should glow while you're flying, and keep the boost for a second or two after landing
it should glow while you're flying, and keep the boost for a second or two after landing
Glow while flying, yes, but keeping the boost for a brief moment after landing? That seems a little bit of a stretch.
if it's only like a second it would just be to make up for the mid-air swing. It takes .8s to swing it anyway, so it's not like you'll be using that 1 second to go on a rampage.
And not to mention, the Soldier isn't exactly a very speedy class on his feet.
if it's only like a second it would just be to make up for the mid-air swing. It takes .8s to swing it anyway, so it's not like you'll be using that 1 second to go on a rampage.
Wrong, it's actually 0.2s to swing it. 0.8s is just the attack interval (delay between attack). The Market Gardener needs to actually promote skill, by having it deal critical damage when starting to swing from mid-air (instead of only doing critical damage when being in mid-air at all, which is dumb), and your suggestion makes the weapon too easy to perform the crit mechanic (yes, you won't go on a killing rampage with the 1.0s land boost, but neither does performing a kill from mid-air).
And not to mention, the Soldier isn't exactly a very speedy class on his feet.
You do realize rocket-jumping is what requires to activate the Market Gardner's crit-mechanic, right?

What kind of question is that? Obviously yes. But I meant that he's not going to go on a tear if the crit effect is still active for a slight duration after he lands. He'll have just enough time to compensate if the target moves slightly because of his walk speed.

Alright, makes sense now. Just wasn't sure that you forgot that the Soldier can rocket-jump for higher mobility.
Speaking of SPUF, a friend of mine told me that many people there say that the Detonator makes you lighter just by equipping it. Them drugs, man.
I'm pretty sure that's how they actually buffed the detonator. They made the pyro lighter, it's bit like how the deflect rocket jumping can make you go further and higher than a soldier rocket jumping because the soldier is heavier.
