It would actually be really fucking cool if instead of robot Engis having gunslinger they had the Engis right arm.
I'm still hoping robot engineers will transform into sentries :v:

Your move, Valve.

What if they randomly planted themselves on the ground and turned into a sentry Transformer-style? They'd be a slightly different looking sentry with one robotic arm that whacks itself to repair.

I need to turn this into a spray.
Hoping to find the actual one from the movie though.

DAMN
I hate this hacker crap.
Meet the Scout wasn't that bad, I liked it. I mean he dodged a Sentry and got out of a stranglehold... from the Heavy.
I feel there is another hint on something again...found this on /v/ for some reason
we know from the engineer update HE created the robots. Also the third life extended went to Grey Mann, PLUS in the doomsday and foundry maps, spy heavy and scout and soldier find the pictures. And lookat the heavy, scout and spies eyes. looking all at engie
Not to mention I found out the robo soldier has this line "THERES SOMETHING I SHOULD TELL YOU ABOUT THE ENGINEER Later" or along the lines
I'm confused as to why the oil stains are still there, that's all.
I'm confused as to why the blood stains are still there, that's all.
OIL DAMN IT.

Valve hasn't felt like removing them yet
is it me or the game coordinator is going down pretty often?

That was a cut normal-Soldier line, it was supposed to hint that RED Demoman and BLU Soldier were still best friends.

Doesnt really change that the soldier knew something about the engi
Yes it does, it was a parody of girl talk - "hey you'll never guess what I just found out about Sarah tee hee". Also it was intended to be cut, any content that is cut is automatically completely irrelevant because we were never meant to see it.

Hence "knew"
Now thats gonna bug me forever Valve :<
Also it was intended to be cut
sometimes I think there's a lucid dreamer on the TF2 team who believes he's shipping things in updates that aren't really there, so things cut aren't really cut, just assumed to already exist and nobody says anything to the contrary, as we don't know it was suppose to exist
I wonder when the TF2 Wiki is going to add a Robots icon on the index section of the front page, since MvM is considered a pretty big gamemode, having its own tab on the main menu.
I hope they make a hallowe'en vision, that would be awesome.

It was probably a reference to the engineer's upcoming update.
What with moving buildings and mini sentries and all that.

Mini-sentries were created pretty late in the Update. Much like the Huntsman arrows being lit on fire, it was a response to community reactions to seeing the robotic hand in the Teaser trailer.

Are you sure that they didn't just mean the Gunslinger itself was a response to community reactions, and was used as the "wrench" to activate the already implemented Mini-sentry?

TBH, this sounds the most likely.

Yeah this makes more sense. I don't exactly see robotic arm and think: "That should have a new type of building, a MINI-SENTRY!"

The PDQ was indeed very similar. Building level 1 sentries, very quickly, without the ability to upgrade them.
However, there were some things that differed between the PDQ and the Gunslinger:
The building only built much faster when striking it. This applied to all buildings, not just the Sentry.
The buildings could be repaired, just not upgraded.
The buildings being a level 1 would confuse teammates as to whether they can upgrade it or not. I'm sure that teammates weren't too fond of having to deal with level 1 dispensers and teleporters.
They alleviated this last problem by creating an entirely new building variant that was distinguished from the stock buildings.
Due to the nature of the class updates, they only planned for 3 weapons to make the cut. The Frontier Justice, Wrangler, and a PDQ. They also had lined up the Southern Hospitality and Jag (which was cut due to not being able to come up with stats at the time). They did not necessarily come up with the mini-sentry first -- they had the PDQ in their minds the entire time, but the time between the teaser and the release gave them plenty of time to alleviate that confusion that I outlined earlier, and it gave them time to create the Gunslinger itself and its cosmetic appearance in all of the viewmodels.
note how there aren't any Gunslinger or Minisentry specific achievements.
I'm sorry, but what does PDQ stand for?
