It's really nice to get new weapons every now and then but I prefer things like the Flying Guillotine over things like the Tomislav, the Enforcer, the Soda Popper, the Liberty Launcher and pretty much all of the Uber Update. It's pretty much the best example of what quantity over quality can do.
I don't think the "quantity over quality" rule applies that much in Team Fortress 2. Look at the RIFT and Triad Promotions. The RIFT Promo introduced two supremely-situational weapons (and just those two weapons), and the Triad Promo had an extremely broken sapper on first release, a minigun that is situational at all times (even though this is the kind of situational I like, the upside and downside are too tiny), and another supremely-situational weapon (Neon Annihilator), with the only good weapon coming from it being the Flying Guillotine/Cleaver. But then again, this could also be the case of "Promo = Bad".

Prior to the creators collaborating with Eidos, Valve allegedly had no knowledge that there would be weapons within the pack. Once progress was made, that is when they were clued into what they would be working with, and they had to have that all finished up before the game was released in time for the promotion. Neon Annihilator's original design was suggested to be canned in favor of something else, supposedly because a Chinese lantern is too similar to the Baleful Beacon. The Huo-Long Heater was more like a fireworks cannon instead of a minigun and was revised by suggestion of the TF team. The Flying Guillotine was originally a melee weapon according to concept artwork, which means that the TF team took it upon themselves to jury-rig it for the secondary throwing animations. The sapper alone is a sizable change since there was no precedent for it, and they even made new animations for it (they just happen to not work right in third person). The mad scramble to fix bugs with the items immediately after they were released is a telltale sign that they did not have enough time to scour for bugs other than major ones such as models not loading at all or the code causing runtime errors. Pyromania was, for the most part, devoid of any major bugs. The time that was allocated for coding polish showed, compared to the relative-quickness of a promotion such as the Triad Pack.
Why is the latest trend with TF2 items to add pets, facial hair, or to change their shirt/skin
Why is the latest trend with TF2 items to add pets, facial hair, or to change their shirt/skin
We need pets with a style that makes them normal or gives them a mustache.
Why is the latest trend with TF2 items to add pets, facial hair, or to change their shirt/skin
too many hats already, we're running out of options.
too many hats already, we're running out of options.
They could start doing the hats people have asked for like a fucking TOP HAT THAT DOESN'T HAVE SOMETHING WEDGED IN IT OR A HOLE BLOWN IN IT AND ISN'T FOR ONLY ONE CLASS
They could start doing the hats people have asked for
That''s wishful thinking.
Why is the latest trend with TF2 items to add pets, facial hair, or to change their shirt/skin
I remember when the previous trend of TF2 was to make feminine hats for the Pyro and dolls for the mercs. Speaking of which, I miss the days when hats were just goofy cosmetic items and weren't meant to be dress-up clothes that cause players to only wear two or three hats and flashy clothes as miscs, neglecting any other hat or any misc item in the game. I'm not saying I hate hats or that I am one of those art style purists, I just miss having hats be for fun instead of a dress up tool.
EDIT Nevermind....
I just dropped a Tosslecap. Yay me!

I gotta be honest this new trend of "pet" items is getting kinda dumb I don't mind Medic having Archimedes, that's totally fine but the Engineer having a cat? Well thats just fucking odd, what happened to the soft spoken texan? Why's he carrying around animals around machinery and shit that's blowing up? Like, last few updates hats have just been semi-random, fitting the characters personality has been such a thing of the past

The backstory to these characters aren't really fleshed out in real significant way. We know the Engineer is from Texas and a genius so thats why most of his hats are cowboy or mechanically based. Recently by adding pocket buddies, they round out his character a bit more.
So I have a question, does the Lil Bruce get assists in Pyroland ?
Well I'm in the right thread. What's everyone's favorite item from the Fall Crate? Wanna guess mine?
1. The Pocket Purrer 2. The Pocket Purrer?

It was actually made before Archimedes, and everyone hates it. Newer pets are better.
the cat was submitted way before the pet trend
Yeah, it's a pretty old item.
