Why doesn't Valve release a Serbian hat, which can only be gotten by buying Plazma.

Yea, I wish they'd get the company that makes thoses generic brand energy drinks in Megaman or Pac-Man cans, that they sell at Gamestop, to make a Bonk (red and blue) and Crit-a-Cola version. Cherry, Raspberry and Grape.

Yesterday I ate Five Guys, then today I had Five Guys leftovers.
Let me tell you my stomach is not happy at that combination of double days of Five Guys.
I just realised something. The only BIG TF2 promotion I could think of is from McDonalds. Get a TF2 toy from your happy meal. Every class comes with a seperate item. So, collect all 9 toys for the codes to get the 9 items.
you know, it might be terrible to say, but I wish they'd exploit TF2's marketability more. TF2 has all the markings of a strong retail brand, recognizable characters, memorable, easy to print one liners, a wide variety of accessories (hats, sodas, arms bands, all could come right from the game itself), they could really put a coherent brand together and market it like Notch does for Minecraft.
ps im talking about these whoppers

the best malted milk ball you will ever have

I always forget that Five Guys is a restaurant which makes talking about them really funny until I remember. The ones here in SoCal have peanuts and these amazing beverage dispensers with over 80 kinds of sodas.

I'm sure McDonalds would love to do a Happy Meal promo for an M rated game

Plus, they have a in-game company called Mann Co.
Why aren't there Mann Co. stores in real life that sell TF2 stuff?

McDonald's toys are aimed at children. TF2 is aimed at adolescents and adults.
It's a bit like Conker's Bad Fur Day where mature content looks a bit kid-friendly on the surface but in reality it really is not; especially given the fact that the mercenaries all have guns with them, the only ones that can pass without people pointing fingers at "GUNS GUNS GUNS" are limited in number anyway.
a mall presence, where you go to a Mann Co retail outlet to buy Valve related merchandise, Steam redeemable retail games, Steam gift cards, and TF2 items (or rather codes for those items).
Every purchase comes with a code that grants the person one free item drop in TF2.

Valve is primarily an online distribution service. The framework required for a physical presence is one beyond their currently ability. The skillset required to run an internet-based property is much different than a tangible one.

Set the promo images in pyroland.
Bam, promos for kids.

McDonalds current promo is for Power Rangers. Is a tv show about teenagers using swords and guns to combat evil so different? Granted Power Rangers is Rated for ages 7 and up. Of course there have been more adult Power Ranger series like Time Force which dealt with themes such as death, racism, and class differences.
If Valve ever starts selling gift cards or code cards (which I seriously doubt) of some kind like those XBL Microsoft points cards I seriously hope they call them "Mann Cards".

The code gives the person a Genuine Pyrovision Goggles and a random hat. Have the promo images in Pyroland. Have Pyro have his Pyroland gear while the other classes have melees. Boom, children's promos.

Valve does have physical presence, but it's primarily through their online store. The tangible products are outsourced to companies that specialize in those products, all of the hats, mugs, shirts, plushes, mousepads, and everything else on the Valve store.
Valve certainly does have the finances to fund such an endeavor, but they would need to do more planning for the additional costs such as renting or leasing property for the store itself, stocking these stores, payroll for the employees, and maintenance of such a store. They certainly can afford that, but it might not be in their best interest to invest since they seem to have a distinct "we let the community do the advertising through word of mouth" vibe. A little SFM video that they make can get their communities talking about the game, and they share it with friends. TF2 got a huge following that could probably be attributed to word of mouth; the Meet the Team videos were sparks that invokes the community to flare up in excitement.

They already sell Steam Wallet gift cards at Gamestop.

ned I just want an excuse to hear the line "Saxton Hale has revoked your Mann Card"
is that too much to ask?
And I mean like, more TF2 cards.
i'd prefer if they were called Saxton Hale Funbucks
Aren't there references the Hale Dollars in Cactus Valley? I remember seeing them.
But does anyone think we might actually not even get a Manniversary update this year? It might be a bit weird, but oh well, more opportunities to introduce community items is fine by me.

Honestly, I don't. I think our next big update is Halloween.
I want to be wrong
People were talking about a Dispenser disguise for the Spy. It's a little late, but I think it'd be hilarious if one of the downsides was health loss if an enemy parked himself right up next to you to heal.
Or even a voluntary "dispense health on right-click" for maximum tactical espionage! That would really create widespread paranoia!
as long as we get new weapons before November I don't mind
