Hooray Day 3?
I'm not excited. WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?!
Same reaction here due to the ticket bullshit.
Am I the only one who thinks that Valve is being pretty tasteful about charging us? They're still a business, they have to make money. The fact that your tickets are NOT used up unless you succeed shows me that they aren't doing this purely out of greed. Not to mention, its 99 cents, you could afford to do a couple paid missions a week even on minimum wage, its really not that big of a deal. Also, before everyone goes "AMG, TF2 IS P2W NOW" (Oh wait, too late. Well, anyway.) Valve is holding pretty fast to the fact that no players have any advantage over other players for paying. Yes, they get cosmetic items, and maybe slightly more fun missions? Somehow I think the world will go on.
The tickets dont get consumed until you beat the mission, so if you disconnect or lose, nothing gets consumed, thats already a good thing.
And im sure none of these missions will go away, so its not like the cosmetics will become rare event items, they might just take a while to get unless you have a good team.
But since these tickets are the only way to get the cosmetics and badge to track missions, i assume they wont drop.
Something tells me that more stuff is coming once they release the update. I mean, there's still spaces on the page.
Same, the blog didn't update yet.
guys just got back from gym..what have i missed ?
lots of rage.
tbh i don't get why you guys are so defensive. no ones crying, just a little dissapointed, thats all. stop jumping to conclusions of "OMG STOP CRYING OK?!?!?"
That blog post sure was nifty valve. Oh, update the game itself? Nah, don't worry about it. I'm good.
This last day is....
eh....
But look on the bright side:
- The cosmetics are just that, cosmetics. It's not like they're unique weapons restricted to Mann Up Mode.
- The tickets are only 99 cents (relatively cheap, compared to the goddamn $5 decal tools).
- The cosmetics are decent, but not amazing. Personally, I think the best things there are the Badge, Minigun charm, and Ushanka.
- WE STILL HAVE MVM. OVER A YEAR AGO, RAID MODE WAS SPOTTED AND NOW IT'S HERE. HELL, THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH FOR ME.
2:39 AM - harry ☀: it's amazing how people call valve generous and then when they make a little tiny feature that involves money = pay2win scum ruining our game 4ever uninstall
It isn't 99cents guys, it's 5 dollars minimum deposit on my damn steam wallet, I'm going to have 4.1 spacebucks floating around.
So no new weapons...that sucks
Guys. All these 0's.

Q: What is a Tour of Duty?
A Tour of Duty is a collection of
--Missions that may span multiple maps.--
--Tours of Duty only exist in Mann Up Mode.--
Mann vs. Machine is shipping with one Tour of Duty. We’ll be releasing more Tours of Duty in the future.
Q: What is Mann Up Mode?
When you play Mann vs. Machine on an official Mann Co. server, this is called Mann Up Mode. Mann Up Mode allows you to earn special item rewards and
--track your progress through various Missions.--
To enter Mann Up Mode,
--you must possess a Tour of Duty Ticket.--
That's the problem, not the cosmetics. Paying for gameplay additions and content that isn't cosmetic.
As with all things TF2, Mann vs. Machine is 100% free to play. If you're in the mood to grab a gun, hit the Upgrade Station and shoot the shine off some blood-hungry robots, then welcome to the war effort, because we could use a few good mercs.
But once the smoke's cleared on the battlefield, if you're the sort of merc who appreciates a good souvenir to remember a war by, or if you're just looking to let the whole world know what a bolt-chewing, bot-breaking old war-dog you are, grab a Tour of Duty Ticket from the Mann Co. Store and get ready to Mann Up. Mann Up Mode will get you rare item drops that respectfully commemorate your war against the robots by draping pieces of them on yourself.
A lot of you missed this. It's free. Mann Up is optional. All it does is get you cosmetics guys.

no one said that
at the time
" WEH A NEW GAMEMODE WEH WEH NO NEW WEAPONS WEH MONEY WEH"
Can you be fucking happy for one fucking update? like holy shit.
It's a FREE GAME. Everything, I am not kidding, EVERYTHING, you can play without paying a cent. It's retarded to say that valve shouldn't gain money or create the largest user created economy in any video game. But what do I know, maybe giving money to an amazing company is evil.
an amazing company that slaps on a money funnel to a major update hyped up over a few fucking years
well I don't doubt the quality of their games, looking for ways to suckle the teat of their consumer fanbase dry is a little assholish
one update that didn't have a cashgrab would be nice
just one
You know the reason they're charging for it?
FARMING
Seriously, if you could get these drops for free the TF2 community would farm the shit out of them and they'd be completely pointless and worthless.
or you could always just make them achievement items and non tradable
Personally my uplifting part of today would be Decoy. Remember, this is an entire map that was made by soldier, the. soldier. The best part? It WORKS; the mann co. robots will still show up at the map, and still attempt to blow it up.
But if they manage to blow it up, you lose. My question is: why? It's not a real base!
Watching people complain and cry is....amusing...

GOD FUCK YOU VALVE
BEING A GODDAMN COMPANY HOW DARE YOU TRY TO FEED YOU FAMILIES I HATE YOU ALL
GO TO HELL YOU PIECES OF SHIT

It's just the same missions you can play for free, you just get a checklist for completing them.
Nice buzzword. Some people just don't like having to pay for stuff all things considered. It's not a lot but money is money and not everyone has it. I for one will probably buy a ticket, but that doesn't mean I'm not allowed to say "boy I sure wish I didn't have to give them this dollar to find a hat".
Good thing you don't have to give them anything!
IS THERE ANYTHING CRAFTABLE?

Not to mention the unlisted cosmetics that will be thrown in.
The problem is faq is really really confusing.
Ha Ha.
Video Games.
Funny you mention, this is covered in their FAQ.
Q: Are my Tickets or Vouchers consumed even if we lose the game or are disconnected?
No. Tour of Duty Tickets and Squad Surplus Vouchers are ONLY consumed upon successful completion of a Mission. If you do not beat the Mission for any reason, then your Tickets and Vouchers will not be consumed and can be used again later.
Awww I missed that
goddammit can't i buy a season pass this feels really weird
Honestly, I'm almost looking for an excuse to spend a little money for MvM's release, but, I dunno, I'm not really feeling this.
But why judge? No use jumping to conclusions until I actually see it, right?
Maybe there will be balance fixes right? With the Crossbow and Quick-Fix I feel like I'm using new weapons.
