This should be the norm. Fuck the item drop bullshit, I still haven't gotten most of the Engineer/Pyro Grordbort stuff, the Pyroland stuff, the Triad Pack or many other weapons because Valve is content giving me 500 sandviches, 300 eyelanders and 200 KGBs.
If all else: Make the new items drop more frequently when you introduce them, give them to new people, [B]something[/B] so I can actually try this shit without having to beg for the shit on trade servers or forced to pay real cash money for them.

Unlocking weapons with milestones worked well when all the classes had was 3-4 unlockable weapons each. However as things are now, it would probably be a bit too chaotic and also hard to come up with fitting achievements for all the new weapons.

I still think the Polycount hats needed for the set bonus should be milestone achievement items given from doing achievements related to the weapons; do some not that hard specific stuff with YER and L'Etranger, get an untradeable Fez.
