Major Update Speculation: V8: Rise of the Machines! - Games

My only wish is that there is a SMALLER chance then normal hat/cosmetic drops to drop during the MVM server only. That way balanced and im happy

Day 1: Brings me full of joy that Mann vs. Machine is finally coming. Day 2: [b]MEGA-ORGASM AT CUSTOMIZING[/b] Day 3: The worst last-day, but it isn't so terrible that it completely negates the update. Overall: Better than Pyromaniac Update. Well in Mtp they didn't show any hats but they added craftable hats...

Eh, the only thing that's slightly disconcerting is the fact that you'll have to drop money in order to play on the only servers that'll have spots open for you for the first week or so. Other than that, it's business as usual, and pretty affordable business in the grand scheme of things. I know it costs me more than a dollar in quarters to play through the entirety of the Simpsons Arcade Game. I would've liked a few new weapons, but hey-- this update seems pretty dang awesome even without Grordborts!

I don't see anyone particularly crying. It's just kinda hard to get excited over a daily update page telling us how we can pay them for a different way to get hats. The gamemode will be tons of fun, no doubt, and it's still the same kind of free it's always been.

[B]All of the MvM missions are available to everybody without paying a penny.[/B] Tours of Duty are just a selection of maps thrown together that valve say "complete these in this order and you get a rare MvM cosmetic". You can do the exact same thing on any server. There is no content or gameplay behind Mann Up Mode.

In a nutshell: Pay for hats Pay for things to count your progress (like duels) And a new free gamemode. I am not angry. well maybe a little since i expected a little bit more from day 3.

To get the hat that drops for free, you have to pay. No you don't have to pay if you don't want it or care, no you aren't being forced to do it. But if you'd like that nice hat, you HAVE to pay the dollar. It's not a lot but it's a middleman that's mostly unnecessary.

I'm personally fine with all of this. Dissapointed like anyone would be at Day 3, but i'm not letting it fucking ruin my mood. It's just an optional thing with purely cosmetic bonuses. I can still fucking play the gamemode, and enjoy it with friends no matter what. God fucking damn.

Does this mean you don't get to see your stats in MvM unless you pay? And what does this have to do with Tours of Duty? How is Tours of Duty different from the regular mission in and outside of Mann Up mode? Of course it's only .99 though, so it's not a big deal. As long as gameplay and maps stay free (which appears to be the case) I'm happy, but this whole set up is still really confusing.
