I hope next halloween involves the death of Blutarch and Redmond in someway, like they come back from the dead to haunt the TF2 cast like their father and uncle.
Or they could ruin a great scenario with something like the Engineer's missing glove comes to life and is now haunting cp_badlands in his new map "cp_badhands".
I have but a long memory.

You forgot "New ARG"
Also I personally wouldn't mind about the Baleful Bacon thing.
honestly CP_Badhands is probably funnier than whatever it will actually be
Also, about the new mysterious promo, didn't the Valve Store say they would be putting in MvM related items in the store in September?

"New arg is the same arg as the last two times except this time it's 18 qr codes, the hexadecimal code replacements are replaced with "spooky" words and instead of hi-5'ing with a capacitor you need to detonate a pumpkin with the wanga prick to kill someone so that they tell you about how spooky you were when you killed them. In the end it links to a page showing a horrible valve-made spooky joe that flips you the bird."
Good enough?

It's scary just thinking about it.
[sp]Almost spooky if you think about it.[/sp]

2012 Halloween won't have zombies.
Or a new boss.
Or any new gamemodes.
As the ghastly hands on the tf2 blog and "meet the" videos indicate, the Blu team is dead, and it's now haunting the Red team.
So the halloween event will be essentially mvm with regular class models only slightly transparent on the enemy team.
Just my prediction.

That just really bothers me how they pulled a bait-and-switch with us during MvM.
If Valve manages to make a good Halloween update (on the level that is as good as the 2nd Halloween Update, or even better), I'm going to make everyone eat socks...
[SUB][SUP]Including me, of course.[/SUP][/SUB]
yea, that second halloween man. My favorite event in TF2 history.
Was the second one with the horseless headless horseman? Because that one was pretty rad
Was the second one with the horseless headless horseman? Because that one was pretty rad
He was; though he was just a demo reskin, he had a lot of personality, a great map for which he can move around, and he gave me a goddamn axe.

I wish the other Major Updates (that are not on par) can match up to that update. It's my favorite Halloween Update~. Next being the first Halloween Update (and also where I first started actually playing Team Fortress 2). Third Halloween Update sucked (would be better if they made the costumes not restricted).
This Halloween Update better not suck worse than the Third Halloween Update.

Same here. I still love playing on the map, even if the boss doesn't spawn.
For all the kvetching I did last Halloween, I don't think that there has been a bad Halloween so far. With MvM and Valve encouraging more community items (Meaning nothing good will be restricted like last year) I think this Halloween will be the best one yet.
i still loved all of the halloween events equally, although i won't lie in admitting i had the most fun with the 2010 one
My computer broke during the Monocolous event, so I've never played the event, the map, the boss, and never got any halloween pieces
rip ;_;

I'm incredibly optimistic, actually!
2012 shaped up in a way that makes me think they'll be breaking from tradition a bit.
3 reasons:
1. New costumes don't seem like a guarantee. Consider: that's 27 holiday-restricted items to collect and clog backpack space. Maybe the sets were meant to just be a more generic "Halloween Getup" deal, rather than "2011's Very Scary Halloween Special Costumes." If it were a yearly tradition, then we'd be up to 81 items by next year. Who knows, maybe they'll update the item sets that currently don't affect the user. Maybe the scout's voice could be muffled like the pyro?
2. MvM lends itself to the gift system much more. A 6-man team is small, and everyone working together would suggest a system where one person grabbing a gift would result in everybody reaping the rewards. Not to mention the gameplay is much more chaotic, which would make a drop feel more spontaneous and less like you're just sitting around, pretending to care about capping points while waiting for the next gift/monster spawn.
The gift dropping would probably be more rare, which is a plus in terms of spontaneity. Maybe hourly "Dead Ol' Nick has dropped a spooky present" gamewide notifications? It'd eliminate the need for farming instead of playing.
3. 2012 dumped a lot of story on our laps. It's going to be really fun to see what happens. We've got two new dead Mann family members, but the fact that they strayed from the family last year hopefully means they're going to keep being inventive. (LIKE SPOOKY JOE, FOR INSTANCE)
I'm just curious to see if MvM is the guaranteed "future" of the teams, or if they'll do a sort of continuation of the post Redmond/Bluetarch story.
I seriously doubt it considering what valve said about the actual update being the culmination of what happens in the comics (or however that email went) , but one can remain tirelessly optimistic as to what possibilities there might be.

Still hoping for a return of the director.
Or should I say... DEAD-rector?! (Sound of mummy casting curse.)
I still think this year's halloween update will include the ghosts of Redmond and Blutarch as the bosses.

I was hoping they would be saved for christmas

The halloween map will probably have something to do with mvm, on an mvm map, and this year's boss is Gray in some mecha-robot suit that spawns once every 5 rounds or something.
And it's a survival map type, a la Call of Duty Zombies

If that were the case, then I believe Grey would just be in a reskinned tank. Still, I doubt something of that caliber would just be introduced for Halloween; more of a mode down the line, maybe even the Reverse MvM we've been talking about.

Considering we have a ticket called "Tour of Duty"...
