Dota 2 is a 100 man staffed fairly strict remake of a mod, in Beta for half a year. Balancing was done ages ago TF2 is a 10-13 man staffed game released 5 years ago, all new additions require intricate balance. Gee I wonder why Dota 2 is getting more content added.
I wouldn't start judging which is gonna be more active until DOTA 2 releases and gets the inevitable flood of new players to handle. Also, all of these "new heroes" are actually just the heroes from the original DOTA. They even have a release list for them (not in order apparently)
Dota 2 has a huge super mega content patch coming next week
October is next week. When do you think we'll see the delicious Halloween content start rolling in?
October is next week. When do you think we'll see the delicious Halloween content start rolling in?
the 25th at the earliest (last Thursday before Halloween)
the 25th at the earliest (last Thursday before Halloween)
:(
the 25th at the earliest (last Thursday before Halloween)
Actually, isn't it always the Wednesday before Halloween?
The 25th is the day before my birthday, so hopefully the Halloween update will make a great early birthday present. :v:
Actually, isn't it always the Wednesday before Halloween?
Halloween is a Wednesday this year though :o
Last Halloween Update was on a Thursday. I don't know about the previous updates though for sure... Edit: Halloween 2010 was on a Wednesday, but 2009 and 2011 were on Thursdays.
If they've already done all the DOTA stuff, why're there so many Valve employees on it?
If they've already done all the DOTA stuff, why're there so many Valve employees on it?
Cause its Valve, the next newest thing by them will have that 100 person staff working on it Page Queen...
If they've already done all the DOTA stuff, why're there so many Valve employees on it?
The game itself is far from done, however the balancing (the major thing the TF team needs to do) is done already. The bulk of the team works on making the actual game part (something TF2 has had done for half a decade)
If they've already done all the DOTA stuff, why're there so many Valve employees on it?
Valve staff goes "OOOH SHINY NEW GAME THAT I CAN BE A PART OF, IMMA GET IN ON THIS" I'm sure they'll have a smaller, dedicated group by the time the game has been out for a few months. Also, if you think about it, there's roughly ten people with TF2, 100 people with DOTA 2, I'd say less than ten people with Portal 2 (they have very little going on ATM, when they get a new idea they'll get more), Left 4 Dead is kind of dead (pun not intended), and there's just a bunch of people working for Steam and general Valve stuff. Seems like a small amount of the total number of Valve employees, right (assuming there's over 1000)? Maybe there's something new being brewed up... or rather, a sequel to something we haven't seen much of in a few years... ^All that's assumptions I'm making, and is probably an inaccurate depiction of how Valve is going right now, but hey, it seems logical, right?
I think the L4D "team" is like 2 guys. Probably shares it with the Portal 2 team for all we know.
If they've already done all the DOTA stuff, why're there so many Valve employees on it?
Top priority.
Some part of me feels like 2012-13 will be the last few years for TF2. Next year might be a yearlong farewell party, and then Valve will bring us the next big thing in the TF series.
I think the L4D "team" is like 2 guys. Probably shares it with the Portal 2 team for all we know.
the entirety of the l4d team is Chet. And all he does is grumble alone in his office posting ban threats on SPUF
the entirety of the l4d team is Chet. And all he does is grumble alone in his office posting ban threats on SPUF
that's kinda depressing to imagine, the humorous part aside
that's kinda depressing to imagine, the humorous part aside
I always preferred working alone.
Anyone else think they should nerf the Pomson 6000?
No. Please.
I saw how to cast out demons in a cartoon one time. Want me to try?
I dunno, it might be a bit too la- HAIL THE DARK LORD SATAN
Anyone else think they should nerf the Pomson 6000?
They need to "buff" it by giving it an effect that actually matches the hitbox.
Anyone else think they should nerf the Pomson 6000?
They did. Now it's kind of useless.
