Those spy and medic suits...Are they both 1 item, or seperated like the One Man Army and Your Worst Nightmare? Cause they're near exact same model wise. And is the Quadwrangler equippable with the medic coat? >:)
My guess is that it's just one item, like the Dr. Whoa.
This thread isn't fun anymore since MvM was released. I don't think we have a major major major update speculation to do for a while now, if ever again.

it'll pick up late October when Halloween gets closer

I remember ned saying something like "it's weird when we reach the point where all of the info from the STS is fulfilled and we have no idea what's next"
Personally, I'm hoping for Heavy Update II, Engine Conversion to Dota2's Engine....hell, a Hatless Update 2: The Miscless Update would be hella.
Heavy Update 2, featuring a new short about the Heavy detailing his job before becoming a mercenary
I'd prefer us getting another Pyro update, one that isn't shit this time. Pyromania 2: The Reckoning.
The Miscless Update
I can see it now:
"Ivanov's weight loss formula": Remove the heavy's bullets
"The tank-top": remove the pyro backpack
"The stare": remove the engineer's go- oh wait.

Pyromania Update 2: The Pyro actually gets weapons edition.

Scoot and Medic Grordbort packs

Pyromania wasn't shit. Overhyped and too small? Of course. Shit? Nope.

Great, someone brought this up again.
Now we have another three pages dedicated to us all agreeing that they probably won't come for a while.

We could always speculate about the Halloween boss.
I'd like to think it's gonna be a zombie-themed MvM reskin featuring event versions of all the MvM maps in which the resurrected Director seeks to put a stop to the 2012 Saxxies.
But I won't hold my breath.

I personally think the TF2 team doesn't give a rat's ass about the director.
They used him for fun in one comic, they probably won't ever add him to the actual game
^that sounds more pessimisitc than I mean it to be^
Honestly, I'm suprised Valve doesn't just do a second wave of class updates.
Which class is least played?
They get atleast one new weapon for each slot, as well as a handful of miscs/hats, maybe a map or two tossed in.
Honestly, they could just toss us updates like this every couple of months with a BIG update (ie. one deserving of a whole comic/video/whatever) happening only twice a year.
Seriously, they could just pick one item set for each class, they'd have more than half the updates for the next year or two completely done.
Hell, do Sniper vs Spy part 2.
Or WAR!! II.
Or even better, Class X vs Class Y.
Medic vs Pyro, Heavy vs Engineer, there's countless ways they could mix shit up.

I figure there's still an iota of hope, what with the Saxxies happening close to Halloween, the resurgence of Mann Co Corpse Grade Quicklime, and the Skeleton in the mine in Coaltown.
Scout vs Medic Update.
Guess what the main attraction is? I think it could work, Medic and Scout aren't really buddy buddy like the Pyro and Engie are.
Maybe for Halloween the robots will be possessed by evil spirits? Eh?

The difference between this and the two similar updates is that the previous ones were on even footing.
Aware Snipers can stop Spies, but Spies can exploit Snipers when they get tunnelvision because of other threats. Also, they are similar roles of assassination, as they both counter unaware players.
Soldier and Demoman are the most even matchup as far as direct combat classes go. If it were any other classes, one would have a strict advantage over the other. Since there's no fair metric to compare Medics and Scouts, it makes sense for them not to have a WAR! Update for those classes. I would much prefer to see Soldier and Demoman duke it out again than any other classes.
Actually, the Director appears in game on the Mann Co Billboards in Doomsday and MvM.

Well, what about Pyro vs. Heavy? Both do ridiculous DPS and both can kill each other in a matter of seconds. Pyro can take down unaware Heavies but can't charge at them, and the Heavy can mow down the bitch but can't take Puff n Sting for more than two hits.

Nothing can take Puff n Sting for more than 2 hits.

Heavy completely decimates Pyro if he's not braindead. The time it takes to Axtinguish twice is enough time for a Heavy to churn out over 500 points of damage, which a Pyro will not survive without an Ubercharge.

Pyros trying to axe you in the face while strafing can get hard to aim, and that's figuring if you have a reaction time to feel fire and turn in the right direction and hold it there for half a second.

Regardless of 1 weapon that Pyros have that can be moderately good against Heavies, Heavy is Pyro's counter. Do you honestly think pitting a class against its counter in a WAR!-style event would be fun for anyone involved? Heavy's already pretty damn potent for steamrolling, albeit slowly. Don't encourage everyone to play Heavy all at once, it makes Pyro's job harder tenfold.

Hey, I've got a sort of speculative not-really-I-just-like-promos question. I just got Rome: Total War - Gold, but don't have my fancy bear hat yet. Do these go out on the 1st? Or did I just buy myself a game without hats :'(

Uh. from the looks of it you need to buy the -collection-

Rome appeared to be the only game that gives you items on its own, according to the wiki and Steam store page.

Mmm, got a point.
Maybe, as I and others have said before, Uber/Pyromania are Class Updates v2 and Heavy's next. Don't know about you, but I'd enjoy reading more about Heavy, especially if there's more comics involved.

The items need to be distributed by Valve, so no one has their hats yet.
