Is anyone else having lag problems when the bots start to spawn?
Do the Giant Pyro and Giant Demo actually do something special like the other giants?
Honestly, the MvM mode is kind of lame. When they advertised the Giant Soldier in the trailer, I expected something like the Horsemann where it's this big thing that will just lay waste to your team. Some definitive hunter-killer type thing that will break away from the standard pattern and fuck anything it encounters with a whirring metal rocket-spewing mechanicock of death. But no. Still a generic Tower Defense mob following the track. The game mode is far too limited by the game itself.
I wish they had more unique upgrade options. Like, say flamethrowers other than the phlog/backburner got upgrades to make the airblast cheaper, or the cow mangler had something fancy with its charge shot. A lot of missed potenial.

A lot of missed potenial.[/QUOTE] The upgrade system strips away any difficulty the game mode may've had. It's tedious. A chore. Bad design. They're forcing MOBA order into an FPS that has thrived from a sort of chaos. I really wish it was just a Horde Mode. This entire update has made me step back and question Valve's competence and capability.

I really think Valve missed a big opportunity in design and revenue with where they chose to put the Heavy head on the Rocket Launcher: Current design: [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/jcwob.png[/IMG] Much more attractive design (in my opinion): ____________ [IMG]http://i.imgur.com/NkLRg.png[/IMG] I def would have tried to trade for it and I think more people would try to buy tickets if it looked like that. Maybe the robots are blue and mercs are read because there is another update coming where mercs are blue and robots are red?

Wait... whats the deal with the Robot Soldier and Robot Demoman having unused Domination Lines for each other? Why aren't those in game for the human versions?
So after playing on my own on one map. I found that its really really fun to play. I have some qualms about having to fight blu robots (i think it doesnt make a different of having them blu or gret so why not just have them grey anyway) but other than that i enjoyed having to be able to finish at least wave 1 with just me as a demoman. I'm looking forward to play this in the weekend. Great job valve. You just added an extra year in TF2's life span at least for me.
I just played 5 hours of it on a local server with a bunch of friends. I enjoyed pretty much every second of it though its definitely better with the full 6 players.
So, coal town used to be deathpit.

Are the TF2 item servers just down completely or something? I haven't been able to view my backpack since a few days ago and I can't even see my inventory on my Steam profile. :/

Tried to play last night, but too much queueing; after reading all about it this morning, I really hope more servers open up in the near future because it sounds great! On the subject of the robots being BLU: it's understandable that, during the preliminary stages of work on MvM, Valve probably just slapped BLU on the robots because they were attacking. Then, once it got closer to release, the artists and writers came up with the great idea for a back story. The RED and BLU mercs teaming up is probably so new of a concept added at such a late stage that the designers and coders probably didn't have time to go back and change the robots in-game. To me, that's understandable. What ISN'T understandable and what IS worthy of people's complaints is if Valve refuses or neglects to change it in an upcoming update. So many fans (myself included) are voicing their interest in RED+BLU fighting GRAY, it'd be downright stupid of them not to change it. Also, the one thing that makes me really, [I]really[/I] excited after seeing this update, is the possibility of taking some of those new voicelines and adding them to the regular game as well! Think about it, several of the new Medic lines (where he doesn't reference money, upgrades or robots) would be AWESOME as domination lines and such. Even adding some new Positive, Nice Shot! and Negative voice lines to Engie and Soldier would be so great. Please, i-ghost, make it happen!
So the giant robots are exactly the same as normal size, but with a smaller head... (They have a few different animations though)
I have five Tour of Duty ticket's if anyone else has them and would like to party up. I'm all for it. Also. I played this amazing update until I couldn't fucking stay awake last night. As a matter of fact, I do believe I played one of my last rounds while asleep.:v:
Also, they've always altered the Gary Schwartz's voice in order to get the Heavy to sound as deep as he does. Usually it's just a matter of adding a filter or two get it him sounding lower than Demoman, but these new MvM lines it definitely sounds like they overdid it with the filters. That's why he sounds so mushy. There are a few lines where it gets so bad that he has that weird Cher-esque autotune quality to it. I really hope they're able to clean them up a bit.
