Playing TF2 on 360.
Playing BLU Soldier on 2fort.
I had the briefcase, and had made it to the RED battlements with about half of my health in tact. Leaping from the battlements, I land nearby a friendly Heavy. We exchange glances and almost go about our own agendas, but I guess he decided he wanted to escort me, make sure the briefcase was safe. Mostly no problems. My shotgun and I saved him from a rogue Sniper in our courtyard. He took down a Scout that managed a few hits on me with his bat.
We had made it to the intel room. I capped and headed for the door.
I turned to face my new friend, offer him a small nod of appreciation. As I turned, I see Heavy walking toward me and a RED Spy uncloaking behind him.
No time to think. I grab my shovel and dive in to save my new friend.
I was too late, however.
With one swift motion, this man who walked our base with me, who put his life on the line to make sure we did our job, my friend, was gone.
I beat that Spy's face with my spade. I kept beating his corpse for... A good minute after he was dead. What if I had used another weapon? What if I had noticed just a little bit faster?
Such a charmingly simple occurrence. I'm not a great writer, so I'm sure I didn't convey the right feeling.
But goodness, this is and always will be an incredible game.

Personally, I think Ern needs to stop with the avatars. He should get something else and take other people's thoughts into consideration.
It's amazing how well the Punch Out and TF2 characters mix.

There are ways for an individual to make my avatar unnoticeable without me having to change it completely.
Sorry, but I'm not going to completely change something because one guy things it's offensive. I'm not Activision.
