I kept getting problems with Gmod and CSS and TF2 when this happened. I asked valve and they said get a new video card.
Well I tried taking out each of my RAM sticks one at a time--apparently they're not the problem.
Now that I think about it, the night before this started happening I got a Windows update.

I've only had a few crashes with Vista.
Honestly, what the hell? This is one of the most enigmatic problems I've ever had, jeez.
