Upsides: Mr. Balloonicorn Clearly pyrovision is a net upside.
Also, getting assists from imaginary friends.
All of those changes are extremely insignificant, and I doubt any of them are intended to be downsides. Some of them are bugs or unintended sideffects, others are just petty nitpicking. Pyroland is meant as a texture pack. A cosmetic effect. It is not meant as a balancing feature of the weapon, it's meant as a visual feature of the weapon. It's not meant to make it worse, or harder for you to play the game. It's a visual make-over.
Here's what'd shut you both up: Taunt: meet the pyro. You get it for 'free' when using the rainblower. You can buy it as an action item to not enjoy pyroland. Also a fix comes out so it no longer passes through walls. And before you say anything about an action item being able to kill think about what was said before: it's a lengthy animation that's hard to kill with on an item you can't tell they're using half the time.
I don't want to disable it because I want to taunt kill people or because I think being able to taunt kill with it will have any what so ever impact on the game. I want it as a cosmetic. I want the taunt, because it looks cool. Like a hat. I'd want it even if they disabled its ability to tauntkill.

He looks like a blob of this: Do you venture out in attempt to figure out which team he is on? That's the problem with Pyrovision. It's hard to tell from Red and Blue, as these particles are replaced:
A taunt kill is just a fun little aside, there is no serious use for it when you're actually playing the game other than killing yourself or AFK players. It is as good as cosmetic.
but the rainblower can be used to kill people through the gates

If they don't die, they're probably not an enemy. Anyway, I'm going to the gym now. Bye bye
I barely ever pay attention to the color of the fire, if I see someone on fire, I shoot them. If they don't die, they're probably not an enemy.
well that's stupid

You guys should stop justify Valve's bad decisions. Making cometic items affect gameplay is bad without doubt.
I haven't used Pyroland since day 1 of the update. Looks pretty damn shoddy, if you ask me.
You guys should stop justify Valve's bad decisions. Making cometic items affect gameplay is bad without doubt.
what if what if the Rainblower isn't a cosmetic item
what if what if the Rainblower isn't a cosmetic item
Remember when people claimed that the Original and Rocketlauncher were completely identical aside from the "cosmetic effect" of the Original appearing in the center of the screen?

Although I was trying to extinguish a guy as Pyro. Needless to say, he wasn't on my team.
what if what if the Rainblower isn't a cosmetic item
What if What if they gave us a flamethrower, with the rainblower taunt
What if What if they gave us a flamethrower, with the rainblower taunt
It's called the Rainblower.
What if What if they gave us a flamethrower, with the rainblower taunt
The Rainblower is a Flamethrower with the Rainblower taunt [editline]1st July 2012[/editline] Ninja'd
It's called the Rainblower.
I mean, a flamethrower witht he rainblower taunt, that doesn't have the pyroland atribute
so basically a straight upgrade to the flamethrower is what you want
so basically a straight upgrade to the flamethrower is what you want
You are hard to please :v:
I don't like reskins at all, so if there's a weapon with even a tiny bit of uniqueness, I want to justify it as a unique weapon with unique stats.
but taunts DO effect gameplay. If they didn't the Amputator wouldn't exist. And everything isn't fine, as the Rainblower lacks a recipe, despite being more than a simple reskin.
stop
I wish they would have released a "Meet the Pyro" taunt item that had him laugh maniacally, raise his flamethrower and spew fire into the sky, ala the "Coming in 2012" screencap. I love the Meet the Medic taunt, I use it ev-er-y day.
what if what if the Rainblower isn't a cosmetic item
Then it's "downside" is very stupid since it works only on specific maps and some of the effects can be turned off.
so basically a straight upgrade to the flamethrower is what you want
We have straight upgrades to the bonesaw and fireaxe so why not?
so basically a straight upgrade to the flamethrower is what you want
why are you getting so anal about a taunt that means little to nothing in the actual game - are taunt kills breaking your game or something stop sperging, it's a fucking taunt
Then it's "downside" is very stupid since it work on specific maps and some of the effects can be turned off.
the audio and particle changes still work on every map, and those are the big downsides. [editline]1st July 2012[/editline]
why are you getting so anal about a taunt that means little to nothing in the actual game - are taunt kills breaking your game or something stop sperging, it's a fucking taunt
taunts are used as balancing agents and can be attributes in of themselves. This is something you can't deny
why are you getting so anal about a taunt that means little to nothing in the actual game - are taunt kills breaking your game or something stop sperging
Reskins are one of the lowest-selling things in the Mann Co Store. Why would they continue to add more reskins is beyond me. The Rainblower and Lollichop have the Pyroland effect as their unique attributes, and the former has the killtaunt. They are less like reskins than the Nessie's Nine Iron, Postal Pummeler, or Horseless Headless Horsemann's Headtaker.
