this update was a fairly decent size. A strong focus on making sure the items added are balanced, further balacing of older items, and some other little nitpicking bug fixes. A very nice update. The weapons are less numbered than the uber update, but as whole, they are far more balanced. [editline]2nd July 2012[/editline] Also I love how this game is still able to make me laugh. Just got a domination as a Demoman and he yelled "MOTHER OF MERCY... now that was a domination!" and it made me chuckle a bit. Especially since it was a dead on hit with a crit grenade that got the kill.

Even if some of the lines are similar, they are still distinct enough to be humorous (Bilbo Baggins, Barblo Braffins, Barble Bapkins).
my brother and I are rocking Quick-Fix/Sticky Jumper combo on 2Fort and it's insane.
They'll probably nerf the hell out of it. What should have happened is just "no explosive jumping while carrying the intel" and then sj/rj players will at least be able to help with the objective. It seems foolish to restrict them from helping directly, it makes more sense to fix the problematic aspects instead of just cut that section off from them.
but then that ruins the fun :(
You and I both know that they're going to nerf it so they cannot be used to easily win CTF and SD matches -- it's inevitable. I would rather them fix the problem at the core than just lop a few bandage fixes onto it until they think it's nerfed enough to not break the mode.
It's a little trickier than straight Sticky Jumping the intel though, it requires extensive teamwork, and two players to stay alive at all costs. Also sometimes jumps Demoman can make the Medic slightly behind him can't make for whatever reason so a one sticky jump requires 2, and you take fall damage.
Teamwork to bend the gamemode over the kitchen counter is still breaking the gamemode regardless of the amount of coordination required.
After looking at those robots, I bet Man vs Machine will be played by Blu, but this time on Defense from Red's giant robotic contraptions. I don't remember where I read this theory before, but there's a theory that Blu is the "Good" team and Red is the "Bad" team all along. Think about it. Red has bigger bases and way more nukes than Blu does. Also Red has giant robots, apparently. Because these Robot models are all using the Red color theme.
But Blu are the aggressors, they attack
Because they want to stop Red from blowing up the world. That seems like a good enough reason to attack.

But, we also see the RED team worrying over the images of the robots. At least, the mercenary's have no idea themselves.

it means Meet the Pyro must have been well along by then also hi Laro!
Interesting thought: Baby Face's Blaster as a shotgun replacement for the pyro. I think it's actually pretty well balanced. It's still slower than base scout speed even at max boost.
it means Meet the Pyro must have been well along by then also hi Laro!
We already knew that they were done with the storyboarding by the time that Meet the Medic was done. The only remaining thing they had left was modeling, animation, getting voice lines, rendering, and get the rights to use the song.

We want Mantreads on Demoman, and we know you have boots out the ass on the workshop for Demo that you can use. We want (well I want) Family Business on Engineer. We want Gunboats on Demoman
But then people would bitch about the Soldier getting too many items. People complained that the Soldier was getting weapons. Then they complained the Soldier only got 1 weapon. God damn I hate TF2's community sometimes.
I'm perfectly alright with that he didn't get any more melee weapons. He's got plenty of melee weapons already, and he damn well don't need to have 3 rather identical looking shovels.
We want Gunboats on Demoman
That would sorta render WAR pointless, would it?

It feels like this update was held onto for so long due to SFM. No wonder they've been working on mvm.
Interesting thought: Baby Face's Blaster as a shotgun replacement for the pyro. I think it's actually pretty well balanced. Yeah that sounds balanced.

I think it could suffice a tightened spread like the Baby Face's Blaster to make it more viable as a skirmishing shotgun; it would see further application as an Engineer, Pyro, or Soldier weapon as well. Most people simply prefer to have raw damage instead of 2 more shots that are weaker, if it had something to offset that, it might see more use.
That would sorta render WAR pointless, would it?
The entire concept of community weapons has rendered the War pointless. The big prize was "WHOA A FOURTH WEAPON OMG" but then every class got a fourth, then fifth, sixth, and so on, and now it's not even really important in the scope of things that Soldier won the war.
Interesting thought: Baby Face's Blaster as a shotgun replacement for the pyro. I think it's actually pretty well balanced. It's still slower than base scout speed even at max boost.
If Pyro were to get the Blaster, it would need some other downside than jumping. Being unable to jump with Scout is a proper downside since you jump around a lot to dodge with the Scout. Pyro only need to jump when he wants to get over an obstacle, it's not a very significant part of his playstyle.

It loses out on range and killing higher HP classes, but on lower HP classes it's still completely viable. Since Heavy doesn't use his shotgun enough at close range, though, it's bad on Heavy. Engy is different, he tends to shoot at closer ranges, so it would be more valuable to him
As anti-climatic as this may sound, I kinda hope those new robot team models will be replacements for the bots in TF2, and not a definite part of the MvM. I hope for other robots when we get MvM.
Phlog + Scorch Shot is a rather nasty, nasty combination. Been using it exclusively for the past 2 days, switching up the melee weapons. The Scorch Shot charges the Phlog relatively quickly, and gives you a way to manipulate player movement. Also, about the tobor stuff: One thing that concerns me is the quality of the models. Hopefully that's just the LQ version that was leaked. Or an outdated version from an age ago. Or something.
