Major Update Speculation V5: Somewhere over the rainbow

Come on Valve, if you do a Thursday patch add that Svdl Soldier Set.
I wonder what Svdl thinks when he just starts reading a thread and suddenly there's a page full of discussion about him.
I might be dozens of pages late, but remember those robot heads that were "leaked" from the VALVe SFM?

What if it was just these props?
My two favorite Reskins
[thumb]http://wiki.teamfortress.com/w/images/d/de/Backpack_Sharp_Dresser.png[/thumb]
I think this is a pretty obvious pick for best reskin, however, a look at stat sites shows it's one of the most used reskins in the game.

Because the booties are ugly, and these are not. With their own sounds they'd be perfect.
Sharp dresser is actually my least favorite knife. If I had to choose between big earner and sharp dresser, I'd pick big earner.
It's hard to explain, but sharp dresser makes it way harder to play spy. I know it's just a reskin, but it does have some effect on your performance. It's not ugly, it's just... Cursed. It's underpowered in the same way as frying pan is overpowered.
I still don't get why pyros use axetinqishers instead of postal plumbers (they're both wheel wepons though). Mellbox looks so much better... (Weapon names provided by F2P Co)
postal plumbers
erh
can't think of anything else than postal's ass and mario when I hear this

TOBOR update is 2 years late then.
Or it's simply Valve tapping in onto our speculation and excitement for seeing robot heads.
I remember reading that the community had a great role in the engineer update.

Yeah, they said that they didn't even know what to add in the update until they read the community feedback, they showed a bunch of stuff in that teaser video and we basically picked what interested us most, you know the rest.
Maybe it's the same thing now, they showed us a bunch of stuff that they weren't sure would work, and we chose and gave them ideas on how it would work, and they are currently working on it still.

Yeah I understand how you feel. The animations seem to affect your timing. I tend to get less backstabs with the Sharp Dresser for some reason. Funnily enough I also get more kills with the Rainblower than with the stock Flamethrower.

In my experience it's because players become more wreck-less while using the rainblower thus removing caution before swooping in for a kill.
In miscellaneous/funfact news, Jeep emailed me a response to a question I sent to the entire TF team.
He personally had this song in mind for the Pyroland segments of Meet the Pyro.

And from that video's comments.

This actually kind of fits in a different sort of way. Do You Believe in Magic was more whimsical, while this has a creepy child approach.
Quit while you're up
that's how I play
I start with 10, when I get above 10 (like 13-20), I cash out that amount, and pocket the extra money, and continue playing with that same 10 again.
Last year I made over 30 dollars. This year it was a racetrack/casino, so I spent most of my time on the track, but I don't bet on the horses. My dad pretty much broken even on the horses though (he lost like 3 dollars)

I meant quit playing casino at all while you're up. As much as i feel for people who like work on the casino floor and how casinos generate revenue and all that to the community (he have like 5 here in this small island) The impact on people playing in them is something i can't support. Of course you can do what you want, it's up to you.

Even though you are very late to notice them, they are unlikely to be just props, as they have modelled the whole team and textured them.
Also, it fits in very well with the current MvM hints, including robotic versions of classes.

I think they should make subtle but different stats for the Booties and Bootlegger.
Give the Bootlegger 50% reduced self-inflicted damage.
It's a straight buff, but it would only make it more viable when used with sticky jumping. Basically making it a Demo version of the Gunboats, that doesn't allow you to stickyjump infinitely, but gives you +25 HP. I don't think a straight buff like this would make it overpowered, because losing the grenade launcher is still a big downside.
Give the Booties a new ability to walk on air while charging. If you charge of a ledge, Demoman will keep running at the same height in the air until the charge is over. It would make Demoman able to cross some weird gaps and also be able to surprise enemies by charging off a high point and falling down on them from up above. It would bring a cool magical element to the booties which would make them a bit cooler and more fun to use.
watching the SFM tutorials by bay right now and it reminds me of Tintin and how Spielberg was able to toy around with the camera like never before on his career. To me SFM has the potential to be the biggest thing that valve could have on its legacy outside the video game world. It gives so much creative power to the public unlike anything else. This is the deal breaker for me on what makes this update better than the uber update.
Doesn't feel like anything to do with the update /really/ though.
Doesn't feel like anything to do with the update /really/ though.
I disagree. Although many of us knew that all the "meet the" videos were created in one singular application, that reveal at the last day of the pyro update, in fact, tied all of the other major updates together in one big 5 year project. The meet the videos served as the seeds laid down leading up to the unveiling of SFM.
they also promised us years ago after the last Meet the Team video we would get SFM. They managed to keep their promise.

your grudge against the whole item is obvious though
mostly because it's broken. I don't like broken items.

it's a spy weapon that doesn't cloak... I mean, come on...
Oh so it seem that there's a lot of stuff missing in the Source Filmmaker public beta release, was listening to the Rooster Teeth podcast (the guys that make Red Vs Blue machinima) and they were saying Bay Raitt showed them the software like 4 years ago and they been using/playing with it all that time. I don't like it either.
I love the YER mechanics yet I don't like the knife itself (ugly envmap), so my only alternative is the pick. And it's even worse.
still want a sharp dresser YER.
If there was a Postal Pummeler strange, then I'd be all over that thing.
Until then, though, I'm sticking with the axtinguisher.
Heh. How come that Beggars Bazooka has random lvls? I know its old, but still. Why just bazooka?
The Lollichop does too, possibly others.
