Major Update Speculation V5: Somewhere over the rainbow

I have to stop having dreams about the TF2 Wiki and adding patch notes. I'm hitting like once every week having one of these dreams.
Last night was a mysterious 100mb patch and the Wiki had to ask f00l what the notes were. Basically they had fixed lots of stuff I don't remember, besides the Overdose's reload canister thing and some projectile changes (think they increased the size of the Bazooka's projectiles)

I think you need a vacation.

Or a shrink. Not even I am that obsessed with TF2.

I just had one last week, went to the casino.
My family doesn't really do the whole staying in hotels thing, we have too many animals and nobody who can take care of them. You see... my family are a bunch of weird hermits who all spend too much time on forums and the Internet. It's a very odd house, we'll all be home, but it'll be dead silence other than computer fans and keyboard clicking. We don't know anyone who we trust enough to come in our house and feed our birds, hamsters, gerbils and fish

And mousse didn't run a diff?
Wow, your dreams are a dark place.
I hated Braid, am I a bad person :v:?
Braid rings a bell... isn't that a time-manipulation game?

And pageking, FFS.
Braid rings a bell... isn't that a time-manipulation game?
Yes, it just felt like a 2deep4u Super Mario with time-manipulation and violin music.
I was bored to tears trying to find any excitement from playing it.
I did not like Braid either. A little slow moving for my tastes, I prefer my platformers to be zippy, like Meat Boy, Sonic or Mario
I liked Super Meat Boy, even though I was absolutely shit at playing it.
I loved the gameplay, the visual style, the humor, and I especially loved the music. It was just too fucking hard for me though, I have not gotten past Hell on that game :v:
Another game I REALLY liked is The Misadventures of P.B Winterbottom.
The gameplay is fun and challenging, the visual style is unique and interesting, the humor is fucking hilarious, and the music is ORGASMIC.
And unlike most indie games, it doesn't rely on the 'retro' aspect to be effective; it relies on the mechanics.
It just felt like a clumsy Mario game with time-manipulation to me.
Even I like Braid, incase anyone still cares about my opinions, what is there not to like? It's actually original, clever and well though out game. And unlike most indie games, it doesn't rely on the 'retro' aspect to be effective; it relies on the mechanics.
I propably should play it through again, on Steam this time.
Braid was rather fun for what it was worth, and it's definately a game you should keep coming back to later for puzzles you couldn't solve before, but some of the puzzles were maddening and the game is a little bit too slow for what is otherwise a platforming game. I still enjoyed it.
Am I the only one who doesn't play as many Indie Games as others do?

I've heard that companies other than valve make games, but I've never seen one in the wild...
I hope they fix the Manniversary hats clipping so horribly with heads on lower graphic settings or as LODs. Ruined the backwards ballcap for me. It was the same for a few other hats, the whole update was rushed and botched up in general.
Gosh I hope they didn't end up ditching the Medic/Scout Grordbort weapons.
Although, come to think of it, I don't know what would be worse: the introduction of an infuriatingly horrible Medigun, or no new Medigun at all.
I have a feeling the Medic and Scout sets haven't been abandoned.
Infact i'm expecting them to come with MvM or the Saxxies 2012, whichever update arrives first.
Well...i hope...
I'm expecting them thursday, like Soldier's pack was.

I'm going to be very disappointed on thursday, aren't I?

I'm really hoping they use them as a sort of interim update, much like the timing of the Soldier's original Grordbort weapons. I just have this sneaking suspicion that we're still quite a long ways off from seeing MvM or whatever the next major content update is.
I'm curious as to how they'll treat the rest of this year, actually. Now with the Pyromania update released into the wild, one has to wonder what the ensuing consistency of content will be like. I guess I'll remain respectfully pessimistic for the time being.

tf2 is bigger than ever, why would they ever abandon it now
just because they finished meet the team doesn't mean they can't do other things

Definitely not saying they're going to abandon it, I'm just guarded about hoping for a bunch more updates to finish out the year. I made that mistake at the beginning of the year and I think it's logical enough to assume that nothing's about to change now at the half-way point.
I think there'll be one really large update left, and maybe two or so notable-but-small events.
Well, I strongly believe the Summer Sale will start this Thursday, so we'll most likely get an update in TF2 by then with new content.
[sp]Summer crates, obviously[/sp]

They'll continue working on it as long as they have something interesting they want to add. Remember, the game going F2P was nearly equivalent to launching the game all over again, the start of a new lifecycle, you could say.

weekly items is nice, weekly weapons are best
i'd easily be able to get a group of 4-5 people to create a new weapon design in a week

Sports?
Ehh...
summer sale is so September
the counter is at 298, which means two more until 300.
They could do a small fix tonight and make the 300th update something big tomorrow.
