It was going to be a minigun for the heavy that in theory could destroy enemy proyectiles. The concept was scrapped and remade into an Engineer weapon (The Short Circuit)
If I recall correctly, the Goal Keeper was supposed to be a minigun for the Engineer, sitting in his arm. Just like the one villian in Deus Ex: Human Revolutoin, Barret.

Just like the one villian in Deus Ex: Human Revolutoin, Barret.
That's what the Short Circuit is, esentially :v: If I recall correctly Laro originally wanted to made it like a mecha/cyborg-like hand that would open up into a minigun thing but Valve rejected that idea because it was either going to be visually confusing or complicated to implement
Ah, so we're back on talking about Mann Vs. Machine then. Cool. To me, from what I've been hearing and reading, this might be Valve's big "fuck off!" to Xunlei and Final Combat, since you can fight a giant robot (and apparently something ripped off from a zombie survival-type game now) in that ripoff.
a defensive minigun for heavy could work. Maybe when fired it releases a short, wide cone of energy that works like the short circuit, it'd have an energy meter that comes back when you're not using it. and to make it valid as a weapon you could still damage people directly with that short cone, but it'd be weaker than a standard minigun, and of course short ranged.

How late am I on this?
Here's a thought: Stop balancing weapon ideas for the main game. Start making weapon ideas for a gamemode where your opponents won't go onto SPUF and whine. I bet the TOBOR quality denotes weapons only able to be used in tobor mode.
Might be a bug, but when I tried to activate one of the codes from summerseal.com, it registered "Steam" to my account and tried to download every trailer and demo available. 608 gigabytes, if anyone is wondering
Reposting this for the new page, have these been posted yet?

How late am I on this?
Apart from the engineer head tapping one, I haven't seen the rest before. They look too organic to be from the bots so either a new bot weapon that burns them or a unique death animation from fire now. If they even are burning, only the scout one looks much like burning. What are the animation names?
Reposting this for the new page, have these been posted yet?
I've never seen any of these save for the engie animation. Nice find. The Medic's animation is my favorite If I had to make a guess on what they're for. Most likely dying from afterburn alone.
Reposting this for the new page, have these been posted yet?
Just wondering, did you get those from the GCFs? I thought new things were usually found out the hour an update happens (unless they are like cryptic things like some of the TOBOR stuff)?

I figured someone here made it, which is why I asked if it was posted yet.
How late am I on this?
Those dramatic death animations would make a cool item
They are primary_death_burning, so probably the same type as thing as headshot/backstab animations (which are primary_death_headshot and primary_death_backstab)
Those dramatic death animations would make a cool item
They too me seem more likely to just be new afterburn animations that will probably be implemented and work like the occasionally occurring backstab/headshot animations.
Either these are from MvM, an upcoming weapon, or an unreleased weapon from the Pyromania Update (thus they went unused). But the Medic one is too...uh, different to be played when dying from afterburn. Also the Soldier one looks like it's from Meet The Pyro.
They too me seem more likely to just be new afterburn animations that will probably be implemented and work like the occasionally occurring backstab/headshot animations.
Good, cause I love animations that make the game feel more alive. Ragdolling all the time gets a bit boring.
Testinglol, I found all those lines ages ago. http://pastebin.com/CQbpLq1L
Testinglol, I found all those lines ages ago. http://pastebin.com/CQbpLq1L
I think I posted some more lines after you which you didn't post.
I assume he's surrendering it to the enemy, but then changing his mind and pulling a fast one think about it as if you didn't know it was originally for the bottle
In no way shape or form does it even look like a surrender so long as he's holding a live grenade. The only way I'd know if he were surrendering while holding something like that were if he were to place it on the ground, very far away from me. To boot, the voice line paired with it, "I'm going to blast you into thin gruel," only further emphasizes the point that it is not a surrender in the slightest, but is actually a threat that uses an unfitting animation for that purpose. If the animation were designed around the idea of blowing himself up with a potatomasher, then that'd be different. But he doesn't, and I stand by my reasoning.
I wonder if those burning animations were played around with and initially meant to be added in with the Pyromania content? Cool stuff anyway, thanks for sharing.
Reposting this for the new page, have these been posted yet?
The way I would see these implemented would be to add an insta-kill weapon to the Pyro, like the Knife is to the Spy and the Rifles to the Sniper. OR Use them for the Rainblower taunt kill. -Nevermind, afterburn kills would work. Reaching 0hp would trigger the animation. Imaginating the Soldier one of the Medic one right in front of a health pack makes it even better.
Hopefully they don't take as long to get implemented into the game as the High Five animations. I'm still a little saddened that a lot of those negative reactions didn't get added at all.

I also wish they would fix his bottle not breaking >:C
first time I've seen those animations. Be cool on afterburn. I wouldn't want them on regular flamethrower kills, but with afterburn, a slow, painful burn would be awesome

Might be holdovers from the pyromania update. Maybe they were intended to work like backstab and headshot animations and they just didn't have the time to add them in? [editline]19th July 2012[/editline] also the caber taunt should be the demoman beating his chest like he does in his sticky taunt and then dropping the caber like a mic
it should be the animation for the frying pan
clips pretty badly
