The email, as you can see, was primarily asking for some sort of proof or recognition for contributing to it, such that it may be used on a resume for a job application. Frankly, neither Ned nor I even remember if that e-mail was made public in the first place (I helped him write some of it). Which makes it unsettling that someone somehow got a hold of it (it probably was public at some point, though), but that only raises the question of why someone would even want to mirror something like that.
