I'd be surprised if they make the rainbow flamethrower an actual item, it would have a very cumbersome viewmodel.
Seeing as it contains spoilers from Meet the Pyro, it will probably be something from it.
So this is what I expected Meet the Pyro to be..

I didn't even see those
Need them
and this is what we got

Those drums are fucking rad and you know it.
Argh the Page Monitor told me Pyromania and teamfortress.com updated...
Nothing changed.
heh I just thought you know the medic has the mtm taunt where birds fly out, what if the pyro gets that but the cherubs fly out instead
What other Adult Swim TF2 promos/events do you guys think were implied on the sign up page?
Someone posted the idea that they would be involved in the next Saxxies, showing off a winner on the air.
(Just a disclaimer: Whether Adult Swim is involved in the Saxxies or Source Film Maker is unknown, it's just an idea.)
Darn I was late. :/
heh I just thought you know the medic has the mtm taunt where birds fly out, what if the pyro gets that but the cherubs fly out instead
or rainbows appear behind him & the do you believe in magic plays
Eh, I guess MtP is kinda growing on me.
Now where is that damn update.
So guys, what's your favourite death from Meet the Pyro? Mine is surely the Medic one, it was so perfectly designed.
"NO! AUGGHHGUGGH!"
now just imagine our saxxies with that brand spanking new source filmmaker eh?
We should light a fire under Valve so they push the update out already.
I saw the whole video as just a metaphor for how the pyro enjoys what he does, not necessarily how he ACTUALLY sees it. I think that yeah, he sees the Heavy's blood splatter all over the place when he splits his head open with a fireaxe, but he gets the same enjoyment doing it that someone would have from giving a lollypop to a baby.
In another example, at the end when he's walking off, doing a little skip away from the soldier, then it cuts to him simply walking away, the skipping is just how he feels about what he's done. He knows, I'm pretty sure, that he's murdered and burned everything, but he doesn't have any remorse doing so.
The idea that that's how he actually sees everything (sparkly rainbows and kitten farts) is pretty entertaining, but I don't think that's actually the case, nor does it make sense that someone would rage about how it was portrayed. This video wouldn't be nearly as disturbing as it is now, if it was all just death and gore. You just have to think about it for a moment instead of taking it at face value like all of SPUF is.
So it's safe to say that the Grordbort weapons are in another update? I don't imagine that they will share the spotlight with the Meet the Pyro weapons unless it just so happens other weapons would as well, but I don't know.
if they do add the dream weapons what stats do you think they'll have?
"Can shoot underwater"
Called it days ago.
Meet the Pyro Taunt:
Rainbows and clouds pop out from behind the Pyro as a Heavy and Scout cherub appear on his shoulder.
The Pyro looks on, preforming an over-exaggerated little "OH! MY FRIENDS! WHAT A SUPRISE!" motion, clapping his hands as everything zips back from whence they came.
"NO! AUGGHHGUGGH!"
I love those kind of deaths, so anxious, so scaring, ... So excruciating.
So guys, what's your favourite death from Meet the Pyro? Mine is surely the Medic one, it was so perfectly designed.
The Sniper's.
All around him is madness. His world is burning down. All of his friends dying horrific deaths. Winded, he pathetically falls to the floor, crawling, reaching to a leg to beg for help. The wrong leg. He joins his friends in death, going out with a whimper AND a bang.

Was there ever actual proof of Grodbort weapons? I thought people kind of just assumed it.
I know you're not complaining, but anyone who is thinking this is too goofy for TF2 might want to remember that Heavy's Sandvich tells him to kill people.
okay come on heavy's clearly joking when he says that :v:
i hope the scorch shot has an alternate style that makes it into the bubbles
So guys, what's your favourite death from Meet the Pyro? Mine is surely the Medic one, it was so perfectly designed.
I liked the Heavy's Death, I want a lollipop as an axe now!

That's... actually a very interesting and fair outlook.

If the new weapons have bubbles or anything that isn't supposed to kill someone irl I'm not playing tf2 anymore.
I can't read SPUF anymore, too much stupid theories about MtP :(
So guys, what's your favourite death from Meet the Pyro? Mine is surely the Medic one, it was so perfectly designed.
I liked the heavy death. Because after he gets hit with an axe, the Pyro's psychadelic vision shows the heavy cherub wobbling around with the lollipop in his mouth, as if to imply IRL he is still alive and moving around with an axe stuck in his head.

From Weta themselves.

Do you even know what speculation means?
I liked the Heavy's Death, I want a lollipop as an axe now!
I forgot to mention in my post that's also the best in terms of hilarity.
So whats the general consensus of this update/video? I feel that the amount of hype behind the video was something that Valve couldn't possibly deal with in a way to make all parties happy. Its like that Judge Dredd movie where Sly Stallone played him and took his helmet off, which he never does in the comics, that pissed all the fans off. I think it was a smart move for Valve to play it safe by not revealing anything major about the Pyro. As for the update itself, I am still hopeful we are getting more packs as the next possible major content update will probably be Manniversary which is at the end of September.
I'm happy with it. They did a good job at bringing out the scary and mysterious part of Pyro that most people have forgotten about, and I genuinely felt a bit creeped out myself by certain of the really merciless scenes. I also didn't react too horribly to the whole dream world scenario, partly because Valve had after all hinted a long time ago that Meet the Pyro would have us seeing the world through Pyro's eyes. So although I agree that the happyland thing was a bit too dragged out and overly prominent, I still liked the video.
I also like that they did NOT reveal his true identity.
