Perhaps the Rainbow-thrower is the in-game item received when you purchase the Balloonicorn.
I just can't see how an in-game balloonicorn model would work as a hat.
Or I guess it could be a misc, like the Cremator's Conscience. Two little Balloonicorns.

I actually began sobbing with joy when I saw the SFM logo. I've been using it for a long time and I've been waiting on the release for a little over 2 years. This is the happiest day of my life. I find it more feasable for a big trumpet thing to be rigged to spew flames rather than to kill people with rainbows, yes.
But I did have a thought, what if it has the proposed stats of the Griefblower? Where it doesn't set ANYTHING on fire, it just has a chargable airblast? It's a trumpet that blows bubbles, so the stats fit and it wouldn't be too over-the-top for the game.
But I like the idea of it spewing rainbows in first person and flames in third.
Knowing Valve, I assume they're either going to do one or the other, fire or rainbows.
