Though I don't agree that there won't be content I do agree that we're headed into gimmicky bullshit territory. You just need to remember last year's inane weapon distribution scheme. Festive crates last year were horrible.

I think generic Christmas things should be a dime-a-dozen. Not to mention the BMOC, the Ebenezer, and the Headcase are all community contributed. Buds, the Max Head and Bill's Hat are made by Valve/Telltale. Really, anything community contributed should be available to buy any time.

To me a promo is a promotional items used to promote anything. Christmas hats can be called promos because they promoted last year's christmas event and steam game sales? You complete achievements by buying the games/crafting coal and getting the hats?

Then why not have genuine buds, bills and genuine max heads as well.
