I don't know, to me it seems like TF2 experiment has come to its extreme where anything is allowed, at least for promo items. You just have to look at any random player's screenshots and see the crazy items any player is wearing to realise how the TF2 artstyle is inconsistent, visually they still fit but they don't fit with the sixties era themed style, it seems that TF2 is now rather all about customization.

I like the pyro items and everything except for the white vest. Ironically now I need to get the white vest for my comp heavy loadout exactly because of its colour confusing attributes. Protect the medic through confusion, help his labcoat lose definition with this in the foreground, I can see it now. Also this looks like the start of a shism in the tf2 community. "Fuck the theme/looks, this is awesome" vs "Keep the base values this game was built on alive."

I think you all are overreacting. Maybe it's just because I've met a bunch of people from Adult Swim personally but I think these items are awesome and hilarious. Maybe the Carl shirt is overdoing it a bit? Really though there are far worse items in the game. I love 'em. If this is the bad part of the Christmas update I say bring the rest of it on.

Carl Heavy is awful, I doubt anyone will actually wear it (especially if it's only available through the store). All that other stuff though? [b][i]Wonderful.[/i][/b] Honestly, Venture Bros. was the first thing I thought of when they first hinted at "Adult Swim/Valve Promo". Seriously, if they're gonna add more AS promos, they should stick with Venture Bros. Sgt. Hatred helmet for Soldier, Doctor Orpheus set for Medic, Hank and Dean hair for the Scout, Dr. Mrs. The Monarch pillbox hat for Pyro, Rusty Venture beard for Engie and Medic, Phantom Limb domino mask for everyone, Monarch crown/eyebrows for Pyro... Seriously, out of all the promo items Valve has added, stuff from Venture Bros. ranks among the few items that [i]fit the look and tone of the game.[/i]

Now only if someone would make Dr. Girlfriend costume for Scout's Mom model.

Obviously it does look like advertising too, I am not sure if Valve has money to make from Adult Swim paying for those tf2 items, I doubt it, Valve probably makes way more profit on the tf2 items already.
