Valve can do what they want, if people are actually willing to preorder L4D2 just to get a hat, that's their choice.

They just gave two hats that basically anyone who plays in the next week can obtain easily and keep for the rest of their TF2 lives. How is that going to cause jealousy, when all but the newest players will have a hat?

Here's my story of what happened to cause this awful thing:
Back when Robin Walker was 'left in charge', he fired the entire original marketing team. Gabe Newell, forgetting to hire them back because he never really knew their names (I mean come on! The guy can only remember so many important names and the marketing team ranks pretty low on priorities), hires a new team of marketers. What he didn't know, is that they all came from Blizzard and EA and never were as good as the originals. Then we get the shitstorm of the L4D2 Demo not coming on on the 27th for preorderers, many people eventually shrug it off. But this, THIS! This! Is their wrongdoing!
