I have a Pyro's Beanie, Football Helment, and Mining Light, all bought from the store. I traded for a Fedora a while back, too. Also happen to have a Vintage Demoman's Fro.

Gameplay-affecting mechanics will never be restricted. It's the same reason why maps are free for people to play.
They don't want to divide the community between players who have access to gameplay and players who don't. Polycount hats are the one exception and they admitted their failure, they just never fixed it. Mann Up mode is the most recent offense, but it doesn't actually force players to separate, but the item rewards still drives the point home that players will be separating themselves; it just sneakily places the blame for that on players and not the developers, regardless if it was intended or not.

those were also days where valve didn't supply well-paying employment to countless others in a time where the real-world economy is utter shit
valve started paying me two years before i was able to get a real job, and the only way i got my job now is because i knew half the employees there already [i]and[/i] the owner

I tried to get a pickelhaube a few minutes after the announcement was made, the second i got the credits they were all gone except one, and when i clicked on reserve it gave me an error, just now I found ou I picked the last hat on stock :v:

No actually I was pretty happy with TF2 during it's very early trading phase (I was pretty famous then when I got every single hat in 11 days), the game started being shit to me when SunSpy showed up and started using IRL money for hats.
