At least leave them craftable
I honestly don't know why they're doing this.
"Force people" to get those hats because they are not "in the game" anymore.
first time i think they actually took something bad from dota2 <_<
brb overpricing my mining light unusual No. This is dumb as hell.
Bad move. Bad, bad move. I myself own a Fedora, and I can tell you that there is no good in retiring items like this. Now, items that were limited edition from the start? That's alright. What's not okay is making the decision retroactively.
And that's how Valve went completely crazy.
Sorry TF2 team, but whichever one of you came up with this is fucking stupid.
Just to think. They could have: Rebalanced the Gunslinger Buffed Natascha Rebalanced the Soda Popper Buffed the Phlog Buffed the Short Circuit Buffed the Diamondback But what did they do? Removed some of the most iconic hats from the Fortress.
this is literally the dumbest thing valve has ever done with tf2 like seriously i see absolutely no reason whatsoever to do this
I have the Fro still.
Everyone write an angry email to the TF2 Team, it's the only way
Vintage prices won't change the same amount of them are around irregardless of whats about to happen. Think things through.
4:23 PM - ned_ballad: less items being dropped/crafted means any other specific item has a better chance of being gotten for free 4:23 PM - ned_ballad: a fancy fedora found in a drop is one less chance at a Team Captain or some other valuable item in a drop 4:23 PM - ned_ballad: and where's the future to this 4:24 PM - ned_ballad: they have one more wave of hats 4:24 PM - ned_ballad: and they're out of valve hats
Why would you retire items from a virtual store with no storage limit?
This is just Valve testing to see if it induces panic buying on items that are rarely bought in the store Quite a good concept, monetizes items that most people usually don't want to pay for But as far the as the end user goes, this is entirely pointless, except for the odd "My hat is discontinued" dick waving.
I'm positive they're going to see what this does to th economy and write it down. Then they'll take some of the GUNS away and then I wlill lose my shit because 50 hats out of the game is infinitely more favorable to the polar opposite.
Why would you retire items from a virtual store with no storage limit?
I blame Jane Doe for all of this.
... Why?
I have the Fro still.
I have the Trophy Belt and a Vintage Prussian Pickelhaube, I'm surprised they haven't marked them with a new quality like 'Ye Olde' or something.

Fancy Fedora is best spy hat. Don't deny it.
Why why why why Valve. Why. Why do you have to do this. Better stock up, you'll be rich in no time
What if I want to get a Mining Light? Or if I want to get a Fro? Is there literally no way other than trading?
yeah fuck valve for trying out a way to cut down on the number of current items
I hope the retire those adult swim items next :v:
Woah woah woah. Is this a joke or a very elavorated hint for a future update?
Wow, they're trying hard as hell to get these starter hats up in price. First they removed them from the starter packs and replaced them with Name Tags, now they're just removing them outright.

Well, should I feel glad to have an uncraftable trophy belt?
I'm predicting this is paving the path for these items being added to steam market
