Wrong.
I don't feel like going to use that
Idlers suck, what idea in game? Get hats whitout doing anything and then think hes cool?

Its not about playing the game. Its about getting the hats...
Apparently

i join idle servers while i'm afk but that doesn't mean i never play it
hell it's the game i play most
There's something about playing and then wham, you got a hat... it's a lot better than letting a program run overnight or sitting in a server all night and then discovering that you have a hat. This is tempting but I'll stick to just playing the game.
I must say I disagree with that.
I played I played I played and I played, but not until I had spent several days on an idling server did I ever get my first hat.
Got my second hat there too.
there's nothing wrong with the drop system
items such as hats are meant to be rare, it isn't meant to be easy to acquire them
you're supposed to play the game to get them
The only problem is that it's absolutely buggered and people could play for weeks and still have little chance of actually ever getting any hat.
Then there's the entire chance that it gives you a hat for a class you'll never play.
Note - If you think in-game idling is risky, then why are you here? This script is meant for people who currently idle in-game already.
You might remember this old thread of a broken guide that never got the chance to be fine tuned by the author before it was deleted.

The author went to sourceop to continue his work and now it is completed and made extremely extremely quick and simple to setup.

- 2 video modes, 1 to idle, 1 to play
- Autoreconnect if you get disconnected
- Autoconnect at TF2 idle mode launch
- Cycles through a list of servers you add to a text file
Just read the damn post ;)
It's already explained in the post, but I iterate : It only a batch script for cmd.exe [windows command console] so the only thing running is cmd.exe and the unmodified TF2 client.
Hence, no way in hell it is VAC bannable
and no way in hell they can see you're using the script to launch TF2 since it's only CMD.exe!!!!
Does it automatically pick a class and pick teams? or does it just put you in the server? If it doesnt pick a class I don't see much of a point because you can't really idle if you're not in a game as either a class or a spectator...

wrong, you don't need to be in a team. Until you pick a team, you're spectator.
I idle by leaving the intro message all the time, I still get tons of drops.

That is some very useful information. I didn't now that, thanks
I'm definitely going to use this now...
Been using this for about a week, works flawlessly. Thanks OP.
