TF2 Blog: "The Second Annual Saxxy Awards Start in 10 Minutes!" - Games

I just feel a little weird, Bad Medicine IS good, just that Zach works as an animator, Professional one for Bioware, that a LITTLE disadvantage for the rest of the entries.

Congrats to all the finalists and winners! I enjoyed this year's Saxxy Awards more than last year's.

The the replay ones were terrible, Bad Medicine was good, but I like SoaS better. Wishmaker should NOT have won that. Practical problems was better in just about every possible aspect.

That was close as shit, I honestly couldn't decide which one I liked the most. Bad Medicine tells a great story with all this dark surreal imagery. Electric Creeps is artsy as fuck (I honestly thought it was merely good, but that last shot won me over). Story of a Sentry (like Practical Problems) simply reeks of something you'd see from Pixar (not to mention all the personality they gave to that sentry). 'Till Death Do Us Part is dramatic in more of an action-y way, rather than being outright sad (though it does have its sad parts). At first I thought it was just that TF2 ZombiU trailer, but all the new footage really sold it on the atmosphere. Really, everyone in the Drama category deserves a Saxxy. The others are for the most part pretty cut and dry, but I honestly cannot say which one I think should have won (thought I do like 'Till Death and Sentry just a TEENSY bit more than the others).

Saxxys felt kinda half-assed this year. I mean, last year we got a whole damned ceremony hosted by Saxton Hale. Not to mention, the appearance by [i]Baby Hale.[/i]

Welp I don't think we're getting an update with new content for the Saxxies, everything we were going to get has been added already.

I have a confession. Max wouldn't have bothered to enter the Saxxies if I hadn't pestered him to do so. So many other cooler, better people could have won the comedy category, but I used my evil, seductive power to lead him to the top. :downs:

I liked it, but I probably wouldn't have been the only one who would've raised an eyebrow if it won the Drama Saxxy.

Personally I don't think any of the comedy nominees were good. At least dumpster diver and bad medicine won.

I enjoyed all the winning entries, including Wishmaker. I am curious as to what's happening with Odd Engies: The Fall of Mann. Maybe it's the overall winner?

'Sabotage' or 'Practical Problems' should have won Comedy, hurts me inside to see that they didnt win. More effort was put into 'The Wishmaker' but it doesn't make it any funnier. Enjoy your Saxxy Max, Zeus knows someone else should have won that award.

[b]ACTION[/b] I'd say that Teamformers or Dumpster Diver is the best. I'm happy with Dumpster Diver winning. [b]REPLAY[/b] This whole category feels like an afterthought on Valve's part. Hell, I didn't even know how to submit a Replay, there didn't appear to be any way to do that. I think we all can agree that Monster Kill should have won, considering that it is: A. A clever idea. B. Genuine, in that it wasn't staged. C. A pretty impressive/hilarious display in its own right. [b]COMEDY[/b] Jesus there's a shitstorm over this one, isn't there? They were all quite funny. Meet the Saxton was the funniest for me, though I could tell it took the least amount of doin', all the other nominees were far more polished. Practical Problems was brilliantly done, as was Sabotage (I'd say they're about even). And now... WISHMAKER... First off, stop the shitstorm. If Max wasn't involved with it, there'd be less of a shitstorm and more of a mild disappointment. It wasn't as funny as the others, but it had its moments (and the voice acting was pretty good for a fan-made SFM video). It doesn't matter what you think of Max (I won't voice my opinion because I don't want to get banned by Max :v:), you're judging the videos, not the creators. [b]DRAMA[/b] Fucking beautiful, all of them. Every finalist in that category deserves a Saxxy, I am being 100% serious right now.

I'm so glad Bad Medicine won, fuck yes.

IMO Practical Problems or Saxton Hale should have won, WishMaker was the least I was expecting to win. in my personal opinion I think garry hiring him gave him a boost. Max has a pretty big Ego and it's obvious other's feel the same way. But alas the saxxy was about the video's and not the person making them.

I liked "Till death do us part" better than "Story of a Sentry" and I thought it was more sad than "Bad Medicine". "Bad Medicine" was better overall for drama so I'm glad it won.

The High Five smells of staged. I mean, how many Medics do you see in 2Fort?

Next year they should remove the categories and just give saxxies to every video deserving it

Just watched Odd Engies: Fall of Mann... ... Anyone else want that as a gamemode? Because I want that as a gamemode. Not official, obviously, but as a servermod, like VS Saxton Hale? I could see that being a BLAST.
