I made a flaregun! I'll probably fail at making it work though...
Awesome, I've been waiting for someone to make the neat concept flare guns. I hope you finish it. :buddy:
Implying your opinion is fact by saying those things need to be "fixed". :colbert:
Errmmm... I don't know how to even start with you. I gave out my opinion. I thought these things are wrong with the weapon. I said if these are fixed I wouldn't have any problems with it.

Lets hope they don't have laser cannons."
Why don't you make the colors of the mask/pistol more like his suit? So it matches and imo would look much better. Nonethenless, great work!
Fuuuu, I try to open TF2 while offline and steam suddenly decides to say: "This operation cannot be completed when steam is in offline mode" I can't even open the model viewer D:
Why don't you make the colors of the mask/pistol more like his suit? So it matches and imo would look much better. Nonethenless, great work!
Because they are made of steel! And steel doesn't have the same colour as cloth. [editline]ontopic[/editline] Also, I like the pistol but not the mask. It looks too much like scrap metal.
Nevermind, seems I have to reboot in online mode... so I guess I can't work on my shit today >:(
Looks a bit too pink in my opinion, maybe tone the colors down to match his suit?
I tried, but it's basically a color overlay on a gray AO map, so no matter what, it won't match the color of the clothing. Unless there is another way, in which case, please tell me how.
MAKE A SUIT :science:
Dead space Engi is enough for a suit... [editline]03:28PM[/editline]
The fuck [editline]03:00PM[/editline] Is this awesome shit
Reminds me of dr.doom
BEHOLD, an atomic pile charged prototype taser! now with improoved particles, (small tweak on)the draw animations, textures and sounds! :science:
Looking good enough to use, but here's some critique anyway: Particles are perfect. Animations are overall good but the regular stab animations are sometimes a bit weak; the slightly upward one in particular is angled a bit too much upwards. Also, could the spy depress the button during regular stabs too? Sounds are cool but could be better - the "ready to backstab" sound doesn't loop very well and the regular stab sound seems a bit out of place. It's not really bad, it just doesn't quite fit. The third hand issue is there but not a big deal - it happens a lot if you reload just before cloaking anyway.

Usually, when you texture you should have a layer arrangement like this: layer: AO map -mode multiply Folder: Metal01 -mask - Layer: edge highlight - Layer: Brush strokes - Layer: Base color Folder: Metal02 -mask - Layer: edge highlight - Layer: Brush strokes - Layer: Base color Folder: Wood01 -mask - Layer: edge highlight - Layer: Brush strokes - Layer: Base color etc

edit: The texture become too dark if I try to do that. Maybe it's becasue I'm using GIMP?

How does one decompile the rocket from the RL? It doesn't want to decompile for me and using the ammo pack rockets just crash the decompiler. :frown:
You can't decompile it, I tried it last night. You'll have to write a new QC. I'd give you mine but I haven't bothered adding the attachment back yet.
Well I learned something today, thanks! edit: The texture become too dark if I try to do that. Maybe it's becasue I'm using GIMP?
No, the AO bakes always make it too dark if you multiply them against the colour layer. Just adjust the levels of the AO bake layer so that it isn't so dark.

Alright, I'll keep that in mind.
No, the AO bakes always make it too dark if you multiply them against the colour layer. Just adjust the levels of the AO bake layer so that it isn't so dark.
Not ALWAYS. I find the best fix is to just fiddle with the brightness for parts that are too in shadow.

Set the base colour to white, not grey. I used to make the exact same mistake. Also Now uses the bullet texture directly from the (Blue) Heavy's texture, for no real reason.
Hmm. Looks fine, but I usually use Normalize for my AO's. Also, what resolution do you bake at? I do mine at 1024 and then scale it to 512 in Gimp.
Set the base colour to white, not grey. I used to make the exact same mistake.
This basically.

Maybe some custom ones would be cool.
Custom whats, rockets?
Custom whats, rockets?
No, no. Pickups. Just thinking it'd be cool, that's all.

No I don't. Should I try? edit: Looks much better, thanks for the tip.
