I do like it, tho. Most of the time, model hacks are pointless and bad, but your buff banner is actually good. There's a few good released model hack here (Peeter's bonk jarate), you should release it once you're done.

This one I made is a mix of a pneumatic stapler and an ordinary squeeze-hard-'till-it-clicks office stapler.
The pneumatic one has an interesting way of putting staples into, which is a very very good candidate for a reload anymation.
